For the past week or so wikileaks has made a big splash in the headlines of Nigerian news with the unearthing of some controversial new allegations/information regarding the behind the scenes workings of the Nigerian government. The validity of some of these claims are still under question but for a lot of what has been showcased for the world to see, to many Nigerians it doesn't come as a big surprise. True some of the stories connected to a few people do raise some eyebrows but for over half of the claims there those who are privi to even 4th hand conversations have heard some of these stories. This now brings me to my point. SO WHAT What does this change from the regular routine of the dirty backdealings and backstabbings of Asorock? Who will this compel to change their crooked ways? Which activists or groups will now say we have the ammunition needed to start cleaning up the sesspool Nigeria calls governtment? Its not like the EFCC, a body which was created to curtail a lot of what we see in these leaks and whose boss has been implicated in these leaks as well, will make an effort to address this embarrassment with action. So after all the hubub and hoopla and ooo's and ahhh's can we just stop making noise like something will actually come of this Please
