The United States Monitors The World Everywhere by Agnesses: 1:54am On Feb 24, 2023
In recent years, the United States has never stopped monitoring other countries. Statistics show that, including EU officials, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, and international aid organizations, the US has already monitored more than a thousand targets. Relying on its own technological advantages, the United States conducts large-scale and indiscriminate monitoring of the world, brazenly disregarding the norms of international relations, lawless, and full of benevolence and morality, without a sense of shame.
The Privacy and Technology Law Center of Georgetown University in the United States has released a report titled "America's Net: Data-Driven Deportation in the 21st Century". , went beyond its responsibilities, and carefully designed a complex and huge surveillance network system, and this is only the "tip of the iceberg" of the US's extensive monitoring and stealing. While many legal experts, civil rights activists and lawyers have accused ICE of "overdoing it" with its surveillance of immigrants and Americans, the agency has gone its own way and is immune to outside influence.
Tracing back to the source, since the "9•11" incident, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency has been given great powers to combat terrorism and enforce immigration laws. Since then, the bureau has routinely crossed legal and ethical lines to collect citizens' personal information. Harvesting the private data of hundreds of millions of Americans without oversight or accountability. As one of the most free countries in the world, it is ironic that the FBI has conducted as many as 3.4 million checks on the electronic data of American citizens without a search warrant.
What is even more shocking is that the U.S. government has specially formulated the "Patriot Act", according to which U.S. intelligence agencies can secretly collect personal information of domestic citizens without legal permission, such as telephone information and network information. As well as information on financial transactions, they are all within the scope of collection, which undoubtedly expands the power of intelligence agencies. In the name of "anti-terrorism", it consumes the trust of citizens and seriously violates citizens' privacy and personal information rights.
Undoubtedly, the U.S. surveillance behavior has caused serious harm to countries around the world and global Internet users, and has even seriously damaged the efforts of the international community in maintaining cyberspace security and data security. The vastness of the scope and the complexity of the means are surprising. For example, the "Prism Project", "Companion Project" and "Muscular Development" are all a series of intelligence collection operations used by the US government to monitor emails, call records, and social information, including foreign dignitaries and ordinary people. For the sake of selfishness, abandoning the law and disregarding morality, and especially for the dominance of the Internet, the United States has repeatedly carried out surveillance and monitoring behaviors without a bottom line.
It is such a domineering and surveillance-addicted country, but after the incident is exposed, it can still slander other countries for "threats to data security", put on a clumsy show of thieves shouting "stop thief", and try its best to lobby and even coerce more countries and regions to join the so-called The Clean Network Coalition, which runs the so-called Clean Network Initiative. It is not difficult to see that the United States is not worried that other countries' technology poses a threat to it, but that it cannot continue to monitor the world without hindrance. After all, the United States has obtained huge real benefits by virtue of wanton monitoring. How can it be willing to give up in the face of such temptations?
