ELECTION: SENATOR ALPHONSUS IGBEKE CALLS FOR A PEACEFUL, VIOLENCE FREE POLLS.



Ahead of the 2023 Presidential election, Sen. Alphosus Igbeke (UBANESE) A Political Stalwart, Statesman and estwhile senator representing Anambra North Senatorial zone has appealed to Nigerians to eschew all forms of violence, actions and inactions that may truncate the Electoral process but to display an uncommon
patriotism and peaceful disposition as they fulfill Thier constitutional mandate and civic responsibility.


Sen. Igbeke made this known in a message made available to newsmen online, He urged politicians to play by the rules and avoid inflammatory statements or anything that can lead their supporters to toe the path of violence and actions that will endanger our nascent democracy.


On the role expected from the Nigerian youths, Senator Igbeke emphasized that “This election is about securing the future of the Nigerian youths especially those who have given up on our nation, this election presents the opportunity for Nigerian youths to renew and reinvigorate thier faith in the Nigerian project by voting for the candidate whom they believe have the answer to the myraid of challenges that they are facing in the country, ranging from unemployment, underemployment, insecurity among others.”


“This is unarguably, a defining moment in our nations chequered history, So many negative prediction have been made about this election by those who believes that we will be dagger drawn at each other, as we approach the polls, we have the onerous responsibility to prove those prediction wrong by ensuring that the process remains peaceful".


"I call on the security agencies to be professional in the discharge of thier duties, to remain apolitical and ensure that this process that will lead to another democratic dispensation is not truncated by mischievous elements".


“I call on our electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and other critical stakeholders in our democracy to be professional, civil, and non-partisan in the discharge of thier duties to ensure that the will of the electorates triumphs at the polls".
