SENATOR ALPHONSUS IGBEKE PROFERS SOLUTIONS TO RISING INSECURITY IN ANAMBRA STATE.



The Estwhile federal lawmaker and Political Stalwart, Senator Alphonsus Obi Igbeke (Ubanese) has called on Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, The Executive Governor of Anambra State to leverage on the power of Information communication technology to secure the state against terrorism, violent crimes and potential threats.


The celebrated Anambra born philanthropist emphasized that there is an urgent need to have proper Information Technology Infrastructure in place for the purpose of information gathering, sharing and dissemination because deploying Information communication technology tools will greatly assist the security agencies to identify potential threats, develop response capabilities, provide mechanisms to protect the citizenry and guarantee internal security in Anambra State.


Sen. Igbeke called for a collaborative approach and synergy between the State government, security agencies and the citizens to build trust, encourage increased loyalty between the citizens, security agents and the State government to avoid the leak of security information to agents of destabilization in the the State.


He maintained that there is need for a continuous capacity building for security operatives, provision of surveillance equipment, monitoring and control of illegal possession and proliferations of light weapons which the enemies of the state are relying on to unleash terror to Anambra State.


He further advised the State government to tap into the ingenuity and expertise of Anambra young ICT wizards by harnessing and engaging them in his efforts to rid Anambra State of criminal elements who are bent on truncating the peace, stability and efforts of the State government.



Sen. Igbeke appealed to all Anambrarians to support the efforts of the State government by profering solutions through advise and recommendations to the government on measures that could be adopted to solve the insecurity challenges in the country.
