Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) on Tuesday took a swipe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo for calling for a cancellation of the ongoing presidential election.

Obasanjo in a letter on Monday had called on President Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)to immediately cancel elections that lack credibility to save Nigeria from looming danger and disaster.

Obasanjo alleged that some INEC officials sabotaged the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the Server for transmission of results from polling units. The former President made the allegations, yesterday, in a letter to President Buhari and Yakubu.

However, speaking in a chat with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Sagay said Obasanjo should learn to exercise restraint like some former Head of States and elder statesmen in the country.

“I have always said that Obasanjo is unrestrained unlike the other former Head of States. They know anything they say can cause tension, so they are very restrained. I don’t know why Obasanjo cannot restrain himself. It is not easy to conduct an election".

“The preparation for this election has been going on for over four years. Huge sums of money have been expended and the election has been done. They are now collating the results at the national level and Obasanjo said they should stop. He is not thinking of the consequences”.

“If they stop now, can they do the election again? What will happen in the interval? Supposing in that interval, something else happens which overthrows the whole democratic process, what of all that? So, Obasanjo is too big for the way he behaves. His behaviour is like that of a little child without responsibility. You can’t just do everything that comes to your mind”.

“Obasanjo has a candidate in this presidential election. I think it is wrong and catastrophic for us to cancel the election. We can’t recover from that. So, my answer to Obasanjo’s statement is outright no. It is just too dangerous to do that”.

Tinubu will never be our president

South west got no reason to claim anymore that they are the most educated...this election open their yansh well.

The four major contestants were from the three major tribe
So it means we the South South are the one to choose the most suitable for Nigeria without biased because they are not our brothers
And we chose choose obi but due to tribalism the South west refused and supported a man who is sick mentally and physically...national anthem was going on he wasn't Aware

If you can't handover your daughter or sister for Marriage to a sick old man with dementia not physically and mentally fit. Some one not aware of his environment but still you want to support same man to head 220 million Nigeria at this point of our critical situation then may you and your family know no peace

If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion and political leaning to the point that the truth and justice becomes secondary consideration then your education is useless, your exposure is useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments. You are liability to man kind

Everyone should retweet and save this so that our future kids will know that at some point in the history of Nigeria we were caught in between the Devil( tinubu, atiku) and redemption( obi)
But the South west spoilt dragged us back because of tribalism

Every sane Nigeria should look at this and read a meaning to it
1) Tinubu political party and administration is ruling but he was unable to win Abuja where them sit down put
2) his own state of origin osun. Even a twelve year old will win thier own state yet he was unable to win

3) all development in lagos is attributed to Tinubu and he is regarded as the father of lagos yet he was unable to win

Nigerians should put on thier conscience and see that tinubu was rejected completely by Nigerians

Most of these indomie generation clapping for OBJ won’t know the much about him.
For your information Election was a do or die during his time.
He and Adedibu introduced AMALA POLITICS.
He supported Chris Uba to kidnapped Ngige(sitting governor) because he never compromised.

You never see such Contrarians in all of God's creation. Could be they know Obasanjo better than his eldest child! Even then the hound that ignores the Hunter's whistle will miss the homeward journey. Pastor E.A Adeboye prayed God should remove a military leader who acted as if he owns Nigeria.

I am 100% sure the man of God was referring to the devilish old man called Olusegun Obasanjo. How will a partisan stateman who openly declared his preferred candidate be an umpire to decide the credibility of an election?

He had written more letters after his failed third term agenda than he did in his entire lifetime before his forceful retirement.

Always quick to condemn other but he himself is a devil in human form.
