Oluremi Tinubu is a prominent political figure in Nigeria. She is the wife of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has recently been elected as the President of Nigeria.



Oluremi is a member of the All Progressive Congress and served as the First Lady of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007. During her time as First Lady, she established the New Era Foundation, which aims to improve the development of children and raise awareness about environmental health and community service.







Oluremi’s political career began in 2011 when she was elected to the Senate to represent Lagos Central Senatorial District. She has been re-elected to the Senate twice since then, making her the first woman in Nigeria’s history to be elected to the Senate three times. During her tenure in the Senate, she chaired the Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology as well as the Committee on Women Affairs.


Although her husband won the presidential election on a Muslim-Muslim ticket, Oluremi is a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God. In the 2015 and 2019 general elections, she successfully secured her senatorial seat for the Lagos Central Senatorial District.


Oluremi’s dedication to public service and advocacy for women’s rights and education has earned her great respect in Nigerian politics.
