See Wike understands Nigeria's politics and does everything to be relevant. He is someone that it is worth studying his antics.

When his enemies from Rivers State advised Atiku otherwise Atiku picked Okowa instead of him he realized that he may not be protected after May 2023. What is the next move?
It was between Obi and Tinubu. Obi cane with his proposal but to Wike that wasn't viable. Tinubu came with his own and all the government machineries available at his disposals. Wike knew what would work.
He knew that supporting Obi would reconcile Amaechi with Tinubu. So to make sure Amaechi doesn't have a seat with Tinubu he usurp the available space with Tinubu. He made sure he gave Obi assurance of support while monitoring the viability of his chances. When the bell rang with all noose closed Wike decided that it was only Tinubu who could stop Atiku from winning. Wike has no problem with Obi. Even as it is now he has got nothing to lose no matter who wins the governorship race in Rivers State as far as Tinubu remains the president.
