LP defeated APC by a huge margin in the presidential election of february 25 but INEC reduced the margin from about 456k to just about 10k.

wahala owa o

gubernatorial election dey come up on march 11 & APC don dey cook up anti-ibo propaganda against Gbadebo Chinedu Rhodes-Vivor just because sey the guy get ibo mama & ibo iyawo.

them say Shinedu na omo ibo.

them say Shinedu go turn Lagos to Biafra if him become governor.

them no wan gree sey Shinedu get Yoruba papa & Yoruba grandpapa again.

them wan disown their pikin just because of yeye politics.

wahala owa but kosi wahala sha.

i even see another propaganda post on whatsapp wey APC dey spread about Jandor in connection with ibo zoinism.

if no be sey APC dey too desperate, how any reasonable omo Oodua go dey link Jandor to any ibo agenda?

Jandor wey the whole world sabi for him Yoruba4Yoruba Lagos4Lagos campaign.

Jandor wey be like the Lagos version of Igboho. hehehe...

abeg time don reach for Gbadebo & Jandor to collabo.

make Gbadebo step down for Jandor so that them go fit uproot APC from Lagos.

e go easy to mobilize arewa community to vote for PDP because them don see shege for APC agberos hand for Lagos.

e go also easy to mobolize ibos to vote for PDP because them dey suffer for APC agberos hand too.

King kObOkO go happy if LP & PDP go fit collabo to save Lagos from APC

Who to vote in the Lagos Governorship election
By Ṣobọ Ṣowẹmimọ

So far, I have not been able to decide who to vote among the three leading contenders in the forthcoming Governorship election in Lagos State. This is because each of the three leading contenders have some pros and cons which are not easy to ignore.
Below are what I perceive as the pros and cons of the three leading candidates in the 2023 Lagos State Governorship elections.
Please note that these are only my perceptions. Some or all of the views may not even be right. You are welcome to share your own view while avoiding being partisan and uncivil:

1. BABAJIDE SANWOOLU (APC)

PROS
- Urbane and conciliatory personality.
- Connects well with the people.
- Has a four-year experience on the job.
- Has a long-established party structure/blueprint for administering and developing the State.
- His administration stands to benefit and be more favoured by the Federal Government when his party’s leader and former Governor of the State becomes the President at the same time he would be Governor.

CONS
- Seen as not a free and independent Chief Executive of the State because of the control and influence of a well-known godfather who installed him.
- Arising from the first point, perceived as weak (or handicapped) in confronting and correcting selected individuals, structures and policies within and outside of his administration which may be costing the State proper governance and good image.

2. OLAJIDE (JANDOR) ADEDIRAN (PDP)

PROS
- Bold, confident and passionate politician that can confront and correct entrenched interests in the State.
- Self-motivated with thorough understanding of the workings and politics of the State.
- Has been a visible, consistent and well-prepared opposition figure in the State.
- Grassroots Lagosian.
- Has no godfather.

CONS
- Party is fragmented and diminished in the State.
- Party performed poorly in the State at the recent Presidential election.
- Unclear intellectual framework that can support a takeover of the governance system the incumbent party has established for the State in the last 24 years.

3. GBADEBO RHODES-VIVOUR (Labour Party)

PROS
- The Peter Obi momentum - running on a platform that just recorded an incredible win in the State at the Presidential election.
- An appeal of youth - youngest of the three candidates.
- Brilliant and well educated.
- Visible passion about changing Lagos.
- Grounded and articulate on his manifesto.

CONS
- Inexperience - has not managed any large public or private institution known to the public before.
- Least exposed among the three in Lagos politics.
- Not a grassroots politician.
- Has not publicly demonstrated proficiency in speaking what should be his indigenous language - Yoruba - which is the language of the indigenes and the largest ethnic block in the state (heard him on a video today pronouncing ronú [think] as rọ́nù [whatever that means] ).
- Does not come across as someone who is mature enough to resist control or confront deep-seated interests in the governance of the state.
