The Ebeano political family in Enugu state claims that the family of Oyibo Chukwu, Labour Party’s senatorial candidate for the Enugu East who was fatally Killed on Wednesday, made a ridiculous and false complaint.

Professor Arthur Chukwu, the brother of the late senatorial candidate asserted that before his brother passed away, his late brother told a few people that he was being hunted by Ebeano political family members who wanted to assassinate him. Could it be from our in circles no?

In response to the assertion made by the professor, the zonal leader of the Ebeano political family, Chief Emmanuel Okwor, stated that the group consists of dependable, accountable men and women with a history of integrity throughout Nigeria.

Chief Emmanuel Okwor stated: “We are pained by the senseless Murders . We expect people to be rational. It’s unfair to accuse innocent persons of something they do not know anything about”.

He asserted that the Ebeano political dynasty had previously been resolute in its criticism of violent crimes and the backward Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) injunction to stay at home, both of which had a detrimental effect on the populace’s economic and social lives.

Chief Emmanuel Okwor, “It is unfair and uncharitable to accuse the Ebeano family of this heinous crime. As much as we do not want to join issues with the family, we strongly take exception to this accusation.

“We have challenged the security operatives not to leave any stone unturned in the quest to unravel the circumstances of Chukwu’s murder to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“We are concerned about the deteriorating security situation and call on all citizens to cooperate with security agencies to get to the root of the matter. We do not expect reckless and unfounded accusations at this point”.

Chief Emmanuel Okwor stated that unidentified gunmen who wanted to impose the no-election agenda are believed to have organized and carried out the attacks on the election campaign convoys of several political parties, beginning with the PDP bus at Topland, the APC at Agbani, and the LP at Amechi Akwunanaw.
