From all indications, the presidency didn't see Peter Obi coming. They never believed he could garner much votes as he did during the just concluded presidential election. So they didn't even included him while doing their power permutations.

The desire of every governor in Nigeria is to install a stooge in government house when leaving office. This will help to cover lots of their mind-blowing secrets.

I believe Buhari was caught in-between the devil and the deep blue sea. Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar were very instrumental to his electoral victory in 2015. He must be an ingrate if he dare not to handover power to either of these two politicians as he leaves office in May, 2023. In order not to be partial, he wanted them to go to poll and test their popularity and whoever wins among them will be sworn in as the NIGERIA next president.

Some cabals of the ruling party, maybe after seeing that there are many odds against the presidential ambition of their candidate, opted to rig the election in favor of Tinubu. This must have infuriated Mr president whom was unaware of their plot to rig the election in favor of Tinubu. He wanted a free and fair election. Mr president wanted either Tinubu or Atiku to win the election but it must be through a free and fair poll so that neither of the two can accuse him of been partial. But as things didn't turned out as he planned, he moved on after Tinubu won the election and directed any aggrieved candidate to seek redress in court.

But the big story is that Buhari is angry with the state governors whom he accused of not doing enough to alleviate poverty among their people. Buhari supported each state governor and gave them whatsoever they needed in order to make Nigerians feel the impact of his government but they squandered them all. All the failures of government were heaped on Mr president's head while exonerating the governors. The state governments are the closest to the people. But Nigerians hardly know what their state governors are doing. All eyes are focused on Buhari. From North to South, everyone is blaming Mr president for ordinary things state governors could easily do for their citizens. This really infuriated Mr president and he planned to pay the state governors back in their own coin during gubernatorial elections.

Naira were redesigned in order to eliminate possible vote buying by the politicians because Buhari wanted the would-be winner of the presidential poll ( Atiku or Tinubu) and guber polls to emerge by popular votes and not by vote buying/rigging.

Buhari may have no problem with Tinubu for winning the presidential election, but he will definitely not be happy with Tinubu for winning the presidential poll via rigging. Atiku and his team were busy playing by the rules believing he would win via free and fair election while Tinubu and his team played fast one on him.

Believe it or not, this upcoming gubernatorial election will be one of the fairest and freest gubernatorial election Nigeria would have recorded because INEC under the strict instructions of Mr President will transmit results to INEC server right from the polling units. Buhari has said it before that anyone that would win an election must win via popular votes. He made that statement because of Tinubu, Atiku and the state governors. But APC cabals used their influence on INEC to rig the election. Now that Mr president is aware that presidential election was rigged by APC, he will stamp his feet on the ground on this gubernatorial election to make sure he pays the governors in their own kind.

President Buhari is seriously not happy with all the state governors. As you can see, all the state governors are now running helter skelter, campaigning and taking selfies with their citizens simply because the intel coming from Aso Rock suggest that there will be no rigging of whatsoever during this gubernatorial election. Having known this, APC made a public statement two days ago that they will concede some states to opposition parties. Please don't mind them. They know that defeats are coming and it is likely that APC might not win more than 10 states after the gubernatorial election.

NNPP and Labor Party will spring up biggest surprises as PDP is likely to clear most northern states.

Go out and vote. 18th of March is a judgement day for the governors.
