Nigeria, being a power house in the world of football is blessed with some talented footballers who has the world at their feet, with the likes of Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Folarin Balogun of Reims, Olise of Crystal Palace, Chuba Akpom of Middlesborough, Ademola Lookman of Atalanta, Paul Onuachu of Southampton, and many more, too numerous to mention.

We curated a list of the highest earning Nigerian footballers in the world although some of these players are actually underpaid, but with the season drawing close to an end, we tip some of them to get better contract terms during contract talks with their respective clubs.

The mouth watering Salaries being paid to some of these players are well deserving given the key role they play to the success of their teams. Earnings apart, their market values are really high; a player like Victor Osimhen joined Napoli for a sum of 70 million euros plus another 10 million bonuses, making him the most expensive African player in history.

ODION IGHALO (AL-HILAL, £170,000) shocked

Super Eagles Veteran, Odion Ighalo, who moved from Shanghai Shenhua to to Al Shabab in 2021 was earning £170,000 each week. Shortly after the 2021 AFCON, he joined AL HILAL, another Saudi Arabian Football Club.


VICTOR OSIMHEN (NAPOLI FC, – £110,000)

Napoli Starman, Victor Osimhen is one of Nigeira’s highest paid Footballer and Europe’s most inform Striker, he has been in blistering form for his Club this season. Osimhen Joined Napoli for a Club record fee from Losc Lille in the winter of 2020, in a deal which saw him become the most expensive African Footballer in the history of the round leather game.


WILFRED NDIDI (LEICESTER CITY FC, – £100,000)

Wilfred Ndidi, being one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, earns a whopping £100,000 per week in Leicester City FC. Ndidi joined Leicester from KRC Genk in the winter of 2017, he has made a total of 182 appearance with 10+ goals so far.


KELECHI IHEANACHO (£80,000)

The starman of the 2013 U-17 World Cup gained popularity after leading Nigeria to glory in that campaign. He went on to sign for Manchester City two years later and was sent out on series of loans before getting his chance to play for the first team. Kelechi left Man city to sign for Leicester City in the summer of 2017 where he is currently earning over £80,000 weekly


ALEX IWOBI (EVERTON £68,000)


JayJay Okocha’s cousin, Alex Iwobi who joined Arsenal Youth setup in 2004 as a teenager is currently earning £68,000 every week at Everton FC.

Iwobi spent four seasons with Arsenal, making a total of 149 appearance and scoring 15 goals before joining Everton in the summer of 2019
