Enugu Guber: APGA A Mole To PDP, While LP Is A Political Opportunist — Ohanaeze Youth Council

...As The Council Described PDP As cancerous sickness And Leech To Enugu Treasury.

The apex socio-cultural youth organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC) after an extensive executive council meeting scheduled to scrutinize credible gubernatorial candidates in Enugu, has described Frank Nweke of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as a political mole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while describing Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party as a political opportunist, and Peter Mba of the PDP a cancerous sickness and cankerworm, a leech that has eaten deep into the treasury of Ndi Enugu.

Addressing newsmen in Enugu on Saturday March 14, 2023, the National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka stated that the 2023 elections in Igboland should not be business as usual, noting that credibility, competence and most importantly, personal character should be the yardstick by which Ndigbo cast their votes to their preferred candidates, not under the political wave of His Excellency Peter Obi, the incoming president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Comrade Igboayaka noted that the short-time of political window for aspirants to join Labour Party gave opportunity for some mediocres to grab the party’s ticket. Nevertheless, Ndigbo shouldn’t overfeed a baby simply because the grandfather reincarnated the newborn.

“Enugu State has been under the political cage of the EBEANO dynasty for twenty four years (24) with a common sharing formula by the powers that be who rape and loot the commonwealth of Ndi Enugu. Unfortunately, the Ebeano political dynasty has sent one of their sons by default to Labour Party to see how the political wind of Peter Obi will blow Chijioke Edeoga into the Lion Building on 18th March 2023. None could have joined Labour Party if Peter Obi was not in the party. It is therefore obvious that they conceived labour party as a reigning ladder to climb into political positions. This idea of using Peter Obi’s goodwill to win an election is the definition of political opportunism and sign of incompetency.

“Ndigbo in Enugu should desist from repeating the same mistake of political wave Ndi-Imo did in 2011, that made the APGA wave of Rochas Okorocha’s defection to the party to produce mediocre political elements into the State House of Assembly; one of the most incompetent House of Assembly members in the history of the Old Eastern Region.

“It’s a known fact that Mr Peter Obi’s capacity and credibility earned him an overwhelming support by Ndigbo and the rest of Nigerians. It should also be logical and reasonable that capacity and competence be the yardstick of sending one to Lion Building Enugu and not the political wave of Peter Obi.

“Ndi Enugu can’t be Obident, in Guber election, to such a candidate in Labour Party that doesn’t have an ‘Ordinary Manifesto’, a working document to demonstrate his agenda or vision for the people.

“OYC revealed that it has been the political strategy of the PDP since 24 years in Enugu to use those on the "PDP sharing Time Table" as a mole to block some frontline political parties, so that Enugu will remain a one party state. A typical example of this strategy is the sudden emergence of Frank Nweke Jnr. as the APGA Guber Candidate.

“It’s crucial at this time that Ndigbo bury emotions and sentiments of propagating a political party, and watch out for pro-Igbo Guber candidates like Uchenna Nnaji (Nwakaibie) and his leadership ingenuity to liberate Enugu State from the shackles of bad leadership and political profiteers that has held Enugu in bondage since 24 years.

“Ndigbo must enthrone a new political order in the Southeastern states for the rebirth of Igbo political emancipation from within, as evidential, political facts has proven that the worst people marginalizing Ndigbo are our South East Governors, Senators, Federal House of Representatives, more than the federal government.

“The semi-autonomy of states in Nigeria has not been utilized by South East governors to initiate developmental projects. But unfortunately, the PDP that navigated Enugu into a tornado since 24 years of its sharing formula is warming up through Peter Mba to continue its politics of the elites, where sharing formula rotates on the ‘EBEANO table’ which only allows Ndi Enugu to eat from the scrumbs that remains from that table.

“Those who are not desperate for power has passed the first stage of test in public positions. Uchenna Nnaji (Nwakaibie) has passed the test of political desperation when he handed over his senatorial seat to Governor Jim Nwobodo in 1999. Such character that have buried political desperation deserve to serve the public.

“Also, in our findings, Uchenna Nnaji has also passed the test of ‘Charity Begins at Home’ by aiding in the installation of the best cancer laboratory equipment in the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu and an installation of a multi-million triple ultra modern factories, Rice Mill with 300 tons daily, Bag Making factory with capacity for 42,000 per shift of 10hr's and Lithographic printer of 6 colors technology. These triple factories can employ at least ten thousand (10,000) people in the state. Such industrial business acumen as initiated by Uchenna Nnaji is a good innovation capable of changing the fortune of Enugu as an industrial hub in West Africa.

“Ndigbo should look deeply to identify those that have passed the integrity test over the years than burying another four years of their future in the hands of mediocres, because of emotions and sentiments against or for mere political party,” Comrade Igboayaka concluded.
