The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has not shortlisted anyone for appointment in his cabinet which will be inaugurated on May 29, 2023, one of his close associates revealed to DAILY INDEPENDENT on Wednesday. Rather his focus is on Saturday's governorship and state House of Assemblies election, especially in his home-base of Lagos State where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is seeking reelection for a second term. Already, there are reports that Tinubu has penciled down Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House Representatives as Chief of Staff and Nasir El-Rufai, outgoing governor of Kaduna State as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). But speaking with DAILY INDEPENDENT, the APC chieftain who is a serving Minister and member of the APC presidential campaign council said there is no truth in the reports. " There is no truth in the reports. Asiwaju has not announced any name even to those of us who are closer to him. So how did they come about those names they are bandying about?". " His focus right now is to win more states for the APC in Saturday's governorship election. He is also keen about retaining his home-base, Lagos State for the APC. Don't forget that the Labour Party won the presidential election in Lagos state few days ago". " After the governorship election, the battle for who gets what in his cabinet will start.
