Technology has changed every aspect of human life. Children, too are benefiting from technology, especially in the field of education. Technology has become an integral part of learning. According to a study (Deloitte, 2016) in U.S. classrooms, educational videos are used 67% of the time, and educational apps are used 65% of the time. In another study of K-12 teachers in the United States, 96% reported using technology in their classrooms, with 53% reporting that they use it daily. (Common Sense Media). Technology in education is here to stay because it has improved the quality of education and the learning experience. One of the most common examples of technology being helpful in education is the increased use of online educational games. Online educational games are apps that combine learning with fun. These games are available online and help children of all ages learn a diverse range of topics including math, science, history, language, and more. Online educational games include everything from cool math soccer games to games featuring creative puzzles for 9 year old’s and older. Let’s see what technology has done for education.

Technology has made education engaging for children.
The use of technology has increased children’s engagement and motivation in learning. Technology helps make learning boring and challenging subjects interesting and interactive. For example, the use of multimedia tools such as videos, animations, and games helps children understand complex concepts and keeps them motivated. Educational games for 5 year old’s, are a great tool for children to start their formal schooling. Educational games for 5 year old’s cultivate a genuine love for learning among them from an early age and let them learn in a positive and stress-free environment.

Technology enables personalized learning.
Technology can be used to create personalized learning experiences for children. Every child is unique and has different areas of strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning. Adaptive learning systems can analyze a child's strengths and weaknesses and adjust the learning materials accordingly. This ensures that children face an appropriate level of challenge and can progress at their own pace.

Technology grants improved access to information
The internet has made a huge amount of information available to children and educators. This enables children and educators to research and learn about any subject they are interested in, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status. Educational games are available for free online and teach children all topics of interest, from math to art.

Technology enables collaboration and communication
Technology makes it easier for children to collaborate and communicate with each other and their teachers. Online discussion forums, video conferencing tools, and collaboration platforms allow children and teachers to work together on projects and assignments, even when they are not physically in the same location!

Technology enables gamification
Gamification can make learning fun and engaging by incorporating game elements such as points, badges, and leaderboards. This motivates children to learn and approach boring or challenging topics. Cool math soccer games, adventure games, racing games, challenging games with puzzles for 9 year old’s and older, and more make learning fun.

Technology enables mobile learning
Mobile devices are easily available and used globally. These devices can be used to deliver educational content and resources to students irrespective of their location. According to a study (Teodorescu, 2015) 96% of university students prefer using their mobile devices for learning on the move.

The role of technology in education is to make education more interesting, approachable, and available to everyone despite their physical location and socio-economic status. Technology helps children and educators alike. According to a survey conducted by the Education Development Center, 86% of teachers reported that technology helped them be more effective in teaching, and 73% reported that it helped them be more effective in managing their classrooms. The widespread use of technology in education improves learning outcomes for children.

Educational games are a great example of technology being put to good use. Educational games being a part of modern technology have the same benefits as other forms of technology like multimedia tools such as videos and animations.
