Inspector General of Police Orders Movement Restriction On Election Day by Odewaleadesoye(m): 6:28pm On Mar 16, 2023
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has ordered the restriction of vehicular movement during the governorship and house of assembly elections on Saturday.

This is contained in a statement signed Thursday by the force’s spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi.

The restriction will take effect from 12 am to 6 pm.

“Sequel to the forthcoming Gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly elections scheduled to hold on the 18th of march, 2023, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has ordered the restriction of all forms of vehicular movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation, from 12 am to 6 pm on election day in all states where elections will be conducted with the exception of those on essential services such as INEC Officials, Electoral Observers, Accredited Media and Observers, Ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, etc.

“This directive excludes the Federal Capital Territory as no election is being conducted therein.

“Similarly, the IGP reiterates the ban on all security aides to VIPs and escorts from accompanying their principals and politicians to polling booths and collation centres during the election.

“State-established and owned security outfits/organizations, quasi-security units, and privately-owned guard and security outfits are also barred from participating in election security management.

“The Inspector General of Police, therefore, urges all citizens to be law-abiding during and after the elections even as he assures that all necessary security arrangements have been emplaced to ensure they exercise their franchise unhindered,” the statement partly read.

It’s a normal thing to do.

Let’s see if we can curb rigging by the restrictions of movement of sensitive materials on the Election Day this time around.

If you know say INEC will give you BVAS without passwords, data or SIM card...or that you normally forget things and you come forget your BVAS password...better no wake up come Polling unit on the 18th March...die peacefully for your sleep on the night of 17th March... because you will die miserably.

Intels from the streets is that guys are ready to lunch any INEC official that misbehaves on 18th March.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed

The police played a non-partisan role in the just concluded elections. We must commend them for the role they played.

Meanwhile, APC from top to bottom. We go again this Saturday. Agenda Must Agend.

Alot are not happy because of the process and outcome of the first election, but I will still urge us to be law abiding citizens.

While doing this, let's remember that Jesus Christ loves us so much, that He died for us so that we might be saved from eternal damnation. Let's remember that we urgently need to be saved hence the need to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal saviour. Do this today and let the Almighty God reign in ur life. God bless u all.

Shalom!!!
