Politaiment.net reports that the European Union has criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for not meeting the expectations of Nigeria’s electoral process.

This is according to Barry Andrews, the Chief Observer of the EU Election Observation Mission. He said this in a preliminary statement released on Monday regarding the governorship and Houses of Assembly elections.

Also, Andrew made it clear that Nigerians have a strong desire for democracy. And, he said that Nigerians are eager to participate in the country’s democratic process.

However, Andrews noted that this desire has been undermined due to the failures of political elites and INEC.
