Even to file petition, Peter Obi still asked for last price.

But how come they paid different price at same court?

Filing cases at the Supreme Court is extremely cheap.

How do they get the money to maintain the highest court of the land?

I know that state high courts make a lot of money from probate cases though.

Lawyers in the house, come and explain this.

Nairaland should be a learning forum, not a forum for promoting tribalistic content.

By the way, OP wrote that Peter Obi still asked for discount? 😁😁😁 You no well oh 😁😁😁

The Monsters You Made..

Elections in my LG of residence in Lagos were marred by complete disenfranchisement of non-Yorubas (and neat looking Yorubas) by weapon-wielding thugs (courtesy Iyana Iba and allied Park Management outfit) as well as outright violence against those who resisted. Some private vehicles had their windscreen and side windows smashed in and out transformer was vandalized. The streets and roads were all bottle strewn, as my kids excitedly told me they saw on their way to and from school. The last time we witnessed violence of any kind was almost a decade ago, if not more. The problem with such hydra is not bringing it onboard. It is eliminating it.

Fast forward to today(in Afromedia), two people were just shot, about 3 mins walk away from the vandalized transformer. One is dead, the other in critical condition. Yesterday (at Isashi), two people were shot, one died on the spot, one was tracked to the hospital and shot dead. All are Yorubas (so far). All in the same LG. The problem with such hydra is not bringing it onboard. It is eliminating it.

They should rest. They can still contribute to Nigeria's development. Why the desperation to be CIC?

Those ones na chewing gum money for oga and madam them. 🙂🙂🙂

The real money comes from probate - 10% of what the deceased has in his/her account before you get a Letter of Administration from court. This is the real cash. 🙂🙂🙂

Cost of filing is usually determined by reliefs the aggrieved party is seeking.

An example a usual civil action where the claimant is praying the courts for monetary damages of say N100 million, Order of court asking for defendant to fulfil some deal they agreed to, and a declaration that he is entitled to one thing or the other will attract a much higher charge because of the monetary damages the claimant is seeking.

An election petition is different. Most times, the petitioner is not asking for monetary damages or liquidated cash. They're usually asking the court to simply make Orders and Declarations.

So in this case, it is possible, Atiku's prayers are higher in number than that of Peter Obi hence the difference in price.
Educative post. Well done mate.
