A combination of inferiority complex, jealousy and fear for the future culminated in the aggressive behaviour of the yorubas immigrants towards the Igbo and other southern community in Lagos. I will tell you how.

If you have followed Nigeria at least for the past 20 years, you'd know yorubas believe they are in a form of competition with the Igbos. Whether in Business, Academics or entertainment, the Igbos aim to make the best of it, while ironically, yoruba aspiration is primarily fueled by the desire to rival Igbos. Argue all you want, Igbos have made aggressive progress in these various spheres, displacing yorubas in areas they thought was traditionally their own. Check education for instance, the Igbos have knocked them out both in SSCE pass rate and university graduate number ratio. This happens simultaneously in business. This is why Yorubas believe they have lost the competition in Trading, transport, aviation, banking, super market chain etc

Interestingly, this is not just happening in the East, it's also happening in Abuja and "painfully" right there in Lagos too. Yoruba people from Osun, ogun etc believe lagos is the pride of Yoruba nation and they must dictate what happens there (unclear how, since they are visitors too) .But it is a painful paradox that the Igbos they are scared of the most have managed (or is managing) to gain a kind of economic dominance there. Since people believe anyone that has economic control has the real control, Yorubas think Igbos have acquired sufficient economic clout to 'take over' lagos, even when it is visibly clear Igbos have no such agenda.

Make no mistake about it,Igbos have never had any confrontation with Hausa, Yoruba or indeed any group residing in Lagos in recent memory, but bloody clashes between Hausa and Yorubas from osun, ogun etc in lagos is almost a monthly occurrence. Igbos are the most peaceful ethnic group Nigeria. Yorubas are not worried by Hausa simply because they believe Hausa are no economic threat to them not because Hausas or Yorubas themselves are peaceful. It is Igbos success that that scare Yorubas. That is why every election year is like war to them; It is why they had no option than to choose to be slaves to tinubu family, it is why they are forced to applaud thugs that attack innocent voters. It the irrational fear of Igbo 'take over' of Lagos that made yorubas to beat up their fellow yorubas in the polling unit thinking they were Igbos. The 'no mans land' talk has no basis.

The inferiority complex against the Igbos in Yorubaland is so strong that portable can win election if he exploits it.

Unfortunately, they have made a lot of mistakes in the process.

1) They are empowering jobless thugs who would destroy their region in future (this was how the north started)
2) They have driven lagos natives to the arms of SE/SS community in lagos, making their worst fear more likely to happen earlier than they fear.
3) By profiling Igbos in lagos and carrying out hate campaign, they have fired up lagos born Igbos who have been accused of being efulefu.
4) They have shown the world who they are.

For the years Nigeria will last as one country, Igbos will continue to live and vote in lagos. Any further attacks might not end well

It is the person who gives you his daughter to marry that does you a real favour. It is the person who gives you his daughter that is the Liberal one not the one in need of the woman. That is the logic all over the world.

Save your ethnicity next time. No one asked you.
I'm A Nigerian. Im Yoruba. That was copied.

Please tell them.
I don't blame them though, because of how they get to marry Igbo easily these days.
From my research, before the civil war, a camel would have to pass through the eye of the needle before an Igbo woman would marry outside of the East. The first set of Igbo women that "married" outside of the East were basically taken by force by Nigerian army officers at the end of the war.
As far as I can see, any Igbo man that agrees to give his daughter's hand in marriage to a Yoruba man these days needs to be severely sanctioned by his umunna for idiocy. cool
After what happened in Lagos, these people should work their way back to us trusting them again.
How can we allow them to tag our children "Omo ale"?

I can't remember any meeting where people who ran for political offices in the south west were selected because they married Igbo women. It was never a criteria.

So, did anyone stop anyone from the east that married a Yoruba woman from contesting election? That should be your question and if yes, where and when?

Your entire write up was laced with bigotry intended to massage your unimportant ego and as encouragement to the menace ravaging your existence and environment.

For your information, there has never been an Igbo man on any ballot in the south west but Yorubas whose maternal parentage is of Igbo origin. If that made them less Yoruba, that is a thing that the Akeredolus and Adelekes need to worry about in future.

For your information, a Yoruba man, by name Abiola whose father is a Yoruba man and mother, an Igbo woman, won his election in his maternal place and state of Abia and was carried shoulder high by Igbos whom one of their own lost to.

Your insecurity will continue to torment you until you decide to challenge it. Igbos has and will continue to challenge theirs even in Yoruba land.
Which Insecurity, the Most Safest Region in Nigeria is still the Yoruba Region, I served in your Place. UGM dey show una Shege for there it's all over the news. Go sit down. Come to Lagos and start selling fake chargers and start feeling like theve arrived. Omo asey

Stop spreading lies, Abiola was just his nick name.
No half yoruba person can win an election any where in the south east today, even a full blooded Igbo woman married to a Yoruba man, like Ondo state governors wife who was rejected in her state of Origin despite favoring her Igbo clan in Ondo.

Igbo make too much noise, beat their chest and arrogate much powers and influence to themselves before elections and other major events.....

Then cry intimidation and victimisation after. grin
