Lawyers In The House, What Are The Legal Implications Of This? by lhordspy: 10:05pm On Mar 23, 2023
Yesterday, Sahara Reporter reported something, with the headline like this:

'Nigerian ‘President-Elect’ Tinubu Leaves For Europe For Medical Care After Falling Ill Over Election Buildup'
The link here:
https://twitter.com/SaharaReporters/status/1638497979907596288?t=ZxIuVyPeBNJtlxY_9rQZGw&s=19

Few hours later, the news media through its official twitter handle, conflicting and self-debunking its initial report of how a very sick Tinubu was flown out of the country; tweeted the link to another news, with this headline:

'Tinubu Confirms SaharaReporters’ Story, Says He’s In Europe To ‘Rest’, Prepare For Lesser Hajj"
The link here:
https://twitter.com/SaharaReporters/status/1638651875049504768?t=XLTEkYcRn9M1qccBV_i9XA&s=19

Same yesterday, Peoplegazette/gazettengr reported this same story, the first one with report that Tinubu is sick. And it acknowledge sahara reporter as the main source of the news they shared. But failed to report the second one which sahara reporter conflicted itself in.

The link here:
https://twitter.com/GazetteNGR/status/1638546827388567552?t=JJ63VykdC4gHQF5tR4vuLA&s=19

Now my problem is that, we know how over the past few weeks, Peoplesgazette/ gazettengr has turned itself into a propaganda dishing-media. The 'gazelle-gararaga' thing emerged from this same news-media. We remember how they misinterpreted the Tinubu's speech to the public then, made it look like Tinubu was speaking in an inchorent manner, a ploy just to suit their anti-Tinubu campaign of calumny.

Peoplesgazette, impressed by the ease in which Sahara-reporter could cook-up fake-news about the Nigeria president-elect, and generate alot of traffic from it without repercussion, and was even bold enough to release another report contradicting itself, decided to pull its own stunt today. This time around not just with Tinubu, but roping the Chief justice of Nigeria into it this time. A whole Chief justice of Nigeria ! . An exclusive report with the headline:

"CJN Ariwoola disguises on wheelchair in London hotel for secret meeting with Bola Tinubu"
The link here:
https://twitter.com/GazetteNGR/status/1638933410839404565?t=x7RT-v8fHTA0tvdG2pQZNA&s=19

Why will a news-media who shared the news of Tinubu been sick and flown out yeserday, turn back today and decided to run their own exclusive report of Chief justice of Nigeria meeting with that 'same man' today. Is Tinubu not sick again?

The effrontery, the ease, the freedom at which Nigeria's news media dish out fake/unverified news is alarming especially since the just concluded presidential election. Everyone and anyone feels they can take advantage of the current post-election tension and agitation, sit down and report lies, push it out for social media traffic.

How can a news media involve the Chief justice of the federation in an allegation as weighty as this? What are the legal implications of this if the news turns out to be just mere propaganda and untrue? There must be a scapegoat. This nonsense need to stop !

There must be a scape goat, brother. Nigeria is not a banana republic where anything goes.

Look at Rufa Osen!, the guy started the Anti-Nigeria campaign using Ar!seTV. There wasnt any repercussion for his treasonable actions, instead the guy was trending. Other Journalists from different stations and radio channel are now following the path too now, they also want to trend. They now insult, malign, propagate hate against Nigeria at any given opportunity on air.

Sahararepoter, peoplesgazete and others are jumping on that trend too. They have insulted, maligned Tinubu, the president elect to next-to-nothing. Since people are getting used to it. They arent done yet, they are now moving unto the CJN, a whole CJN, the effrontery. shocked

-Tinubu was involved in heroin-drug scandal in Chicago Illinois in 1991.

-Tinubu forged primary/secondary school certificates in 1999.

-Tinubu was involved in criminal parading of bullion vans election bribery cash during the eve of the 2019 election( imagine what APC would have done to him if he were a PDP or LP member).

-Tinubu was implicated in the Alpha-Beta corruption scandal of 2017 whose records were destroyed by his urchins and miscreants during the #EndSARS protests of 2020.

-Tinubu was involved in brazen shameless identity theft and faking of young Donald Duke's childhood picture shamelessly passing it as his own in his published autobiography until Duke exposed him.

-Tinubu was involved in hiring of fake agbadorian bishops in his desperate bid to legitimate his muslim muslim ticket that he crookedly leagued with INEC to obtain.

-So what makes you thinks anything is not possible with such a dubious character of a man?

I like your confidence. grin

It's just sad that Tinubu doesn't have the kind of confidence you have cheesy

I'm challenging Tinubu on behalf of every ur.chin. to please approach the court.

If you know the number of Obidients and Atiku fanboys working in airports, UK hospitals as nurses and doctors, walai, you will stop flying oversea to hold fraudulent and rigging meetings cheesy Even your calls are no longer safe. You don't know who hates you in MTN office.

Just dey play here and build your confidence very well. You will need it in court. grin

Some people do not understand the politics of our country...

Imagine, claiming the CJN had to disguise himself so as to meet Tinubu ....anything just to create media panic.

So they cannot talk on the phone again?

Is it not the same to claim that Peter Obi met with the CJN here in Nigeria before the CJN jetted out to the UK?

Since it is the rumor-swinging season we are...

There is nothing you can really do with this kind of fellows it’s all part of democracy. Trump did worse after losing elections still Biden is still President. Expect more propaganda like buhari not willing to handover news as we count down to the swearing in on may 29. The next propaganda after that it’s to continue to track Tinubu in his bedroom and toilet till he finishes his term. Grab your popcorn

The law needs to come down hard on fake news peddlers irrespective of whether they are journalists, citizens or media houses. These people will set the country on fire, but I get that's they want - crab in a bucket mentality. At the end of the day, no one has the monopoly of violence.

Anyway, they are just huffing and puffing, 29th of May is almost here. It's just about 9weeks away. cheesy

It will only get worst. Imagine this kinda weighty allegation on the Chief Judge of Nigeria. The temerity to even think of doing it shows we are fast becoming a lawless country.

You're challenging them to give you more proof. Be careful what you ask for. You think when Baba Lagos and Wike where meeting, people weren't watching and eavesdropping on them. I once told you that your camp is riddled with planted saboteurs.
