What Is Metromile Insurance?
Metromile Insurance is a “pay-as-you-drive” car insurance company. The people insured through Metromile have to pay the monthly charge (starting at as low as $29 per month) and a mileage charge (for instance, $0.06 per mile). The mileage is determined using a tiny device known as”Metromile Pulse. “Metromile Pulse.”

The Metromile Pulse app not only tracks miles but also sends information to the Metromile app, which means that you’ll get instant information about various check engine codes and ways to cut down on your mileage. If you don’t use your car for any reason during a month, you’ll pay the monthly cost.

With Metromile more you don’t drive and the lower your cost. That means that your cost will be different every month. Metromile claims that it can provide savings to anyone who drives less than 10,000 miles a year.

Customers insured through Metromile can choose to purchase all-inclusive auto insurance coverage or limit it to only the minimum state-required requirements. The coverage options are collision, comprehensive and personal injury and property damages, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage and medical insurance, rental reimbursement (up to $30/day for 30 days), and additional roadside aid. Metromile even covers up to $1,000 for veterinary costs if your pet gets injured during a covered claim. In addition, your vehicle is covered while you are parking it.

It’s also important to remember that if you work for a ride-sharing business (like Uber or Lyft), you cannot purchase assurance through Metromile.

Metromile lets you cover multiple persons, including your spouse, children older than 15 and other people with “regular” vehicle users. In all states except Virginia, the policy allows you to “exclude” a specific driver from your insurance plan. This reduces your premium; however, the claim might have no coverage if the exclusion driver is involved in an auto accident.

The cost of deductibles for Metromile can be anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per claim.
