Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has advised the incoming administration to place a renewed focus on Nigerians' persistent call for restructuring, IGBERETV reports.

He stated that Nigerians will not cease to demand for restructuring. Soyinka said that programmes and policies of the incoming administration will face serious challenges, if the government fails to address the issue of restructuring.

Speaking on Channel TV, he said;

“Whomever it is must understand that the people of this country will not cease demanding a restructuring of this nation."

“New voices are being heard and they are more powerful than before. They are not just whining voices, they are voices based on actualities. We have failed in so many directions and they are saying, ‘let us try in this direction’ and you cannot ignore it.

“Otherwise, even your economic policies will fail, your infrastructure and transformation will fail. We will just go back threading the same old spur.”

Like I always say, the South West, which is where Bola Tinubu comes from, has already set the agenda for the oldie. The South West has called for restructuring more than any other part of the country.

So, the coming months will tell us whether Tinubu is going to Aso Rock to further his selfish gains and those of his people.

I am 100% with the revered Professor on this talk here. Restructuring is long overdue. Tinubu has to implement it immediately with no excuses because the eyes of the world will be on him.

Things that are simple we deliberately made difficult in Nigeria so a small group can profit while majority of Nigerians are born into hopelessness. BAT must reverse that trend.

Tinubu must restructure Nigeria comprehensively to give us a decentralized and truly meritorious democracy. I personally believe he will.

Indeed. This is because the region is 100% sure of her ability to thrive, develop and prosper in a restructured Nigeria where merit and self-determined success is key.
Buhari slowed Nigeria down horribly because of his centrist ideology to governance. He even dismissed restricting outright and Nigerians did nothing.

Yet, Nigerians won't accord Tinubu the patience that authoritarian and inflexible Buhari enjoyed,

Tinubu is facing a very tough task becoming President at this very difficult stage in Nigeria's history but I believe he is more than capable.

Mumu, if you are so sure, then you should support the division of your zoo, so you can live and survive on your own. depending on Igbos to survive is a show of cowardice. Lagos is the only viable city in South West and it's economy is in Igbos hands.
Igbos have been asking for a separate country which is bigger than asking for restructuring because they are confident of surviving on their own, unlike all you leeches and parasites that depends on sharing a country with Igbos in order to survive.
