Can Inec Or Nigeria Sue For A Breach Of Contract/warranty? by CENI: 10:59pm On Apr 03, 2023
Let me go straight to my point.
Since INEC purchased all BVAS, IREV, PORTAL, high-tech and some other electoral materials from a certain foreign company. I believe there should have been a warranty from the foreign company covering those high-tech materials. According to INEC each BVAS cost about $795 and over 194,464 BVAS were bought for our 176,846 polling units across the nation, with additional 8,809 BVAS for backup. A day after the presidential election of 25th February, INEC informed the entire nation that the BVAS developed glitches, which means they failed or malfunctioned on the election day; hence it has to resort to manual collation of election results.
My questions are: Can INEC or Nigerian government sue the foreign company for a breach of warranty or breach of contract on the BVAS and other high-tech materials that malfunctioned on the Nigerians needed them most to work. Will INEC actually sue?

PLEASE no tribal bashing of Igbo this or Yoruba that on this post. Be patriotic, honest and objective with your response.

Hmm. It is very obvious you are drowning in deep ignorance, sir.

BVAS is different from IREV.
BVAS is a machine used to identify and accredit voters’ fingerprints and facial recognition before voting, while the IReV is a mere online portal where polling unit level results are uploaded directly from the polling unit, transmitted and published for the public.

IREV was not purchased, it was developed. It is a mere result viewing portal/site; which had issues with publishing results for the public on election day.

Only the machine; BVAS was purchased, and it worked perfectly fine. Over 23miillion Nigerians voted, they all underwent the BVAS accreditation before voting.

The minor glitches are mere machine error. And it occurred in less than 5% of the entire BVAS machines deployed.
