Bola Tinubu, the ‘President-elect’ of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly instructed his aides, handlers of his social media accounts, and visitors not to use mobile phones that are not approved in France. This directive was allegedly given to prevent the severity of his ailment from being disclosed to the public.

SaharaReporters exclusively reported in March that Tinubu traveled to Europe to seek medical care after falling ill due to the intense electioneering that led to his emergence as the ‘President-elect’ and the tension that built up ahead of the March 18 Lagos State governorship and House of Assembly elections where he also voted.

spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, confirmed that Tinubu traveled to Paris, France, and the United Kingdom to rest and plan the transition program, and would later go to Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj.
