My concern for posting this news is why does Immigration focus on one area and ignore the rest. We had so many immigrants from the north even with voters card and this is a crime but they allow this. Do we have influx in the south or its part of the agenda?

THE Oyo Command ofthe NigeriaImmigration Service(NIS) has warned residentsagainst harbouring illegalmigrants.
The Comptroller in Oyo,Muhammed Umar, gave thewarning while speakingwith journalists, yesterday, inIbadan.
Umar said it was an offencefor anyone in the state andNigeria to harbour illegalmigrants, adding that anyone found guilty would beprosecuted.
The comptroller said thatharbouring illegal migrantscould infringe on the country’s security, a developmentthat the Service would notcondone.
“We encourage people tohelp us and let us knowwhen they see anyone harbouring illegal migrants.
“It infringes on our nationalsecurity when you harboursomebody that is not aNigerian and most likelydoes not engage in legitimate business.
“Every non-Nigerian that ishere and doing a legitimatebusiness should have registered with the Service, whichis an indication that such aperson is legally here,” Umarsaid.
He, therefore, urged passport applicants to avoidpatronising touts to get theirinternational passports butto follow the procedure byregistering online.
He said a new passport officewould soon be inauguratedin Oyo town to reduce thepressure on the Ibadan centre.
The Comptroller added thatthe Service would continueto carry out sensitisationalong the border areas.
