As a result of the pandemic opportunities for remote work than ever before, which means job seekers can access more opportunities regardless of location. Additionally, companies are beginning to appreciate the benefits of remote work, such as cost savings, increased productivity, and a better work-life balance for employees.

Another hiring trend worth mentioning is the demand for digital and tech skills. As the economy continues to digitize, businesses have a heightened need for talent with technical expertise. Jobs in Software Development, Data Analysis, Cybersecurity, and UI/UX design are on the rise as businesses look to stay competitive in a rapidly changing landscape. Job seekers with these valuable skills will be highly sought after in the coming years.

Flexibility and adaptability are becoming increasingly essential for workers. As businesses evolve and adapt to changes in the economy, workers need to keep up. Being willing to switch roles or learn new skills can be a significant factor in getting hired. Businesses want to see candidates who can help drive innovation and bring a fresh perspective to the table as well.

Diversity and inclusion are playing a more prominent role in the job market of the United States. Employers are making diversity initiatives a top priority in a bid to cultivate a more inclusive workplace. Companies are recognizing that diverse teams are more productive and innovative, and that a lack of diversity can lead to systemic problems.

Finally, the gig economy continues to grow as more people seek flexible, short-term work arrangements. Freelancers, independent contractors, and remote workers have more opportunities than ever before, thanks to the increasing demand for specialized skills. Staffing companies have stepped in to help fill these short term needs. Additionally technology platforms such as Uber, Lyft, and Grubhub have made it easier than ever to connect with clients and find work.

In summary, job seekers in the world can take advantage of several hiring trends that are currently shaping the job market. Remote work, digital and tech skills, adaptability, and diversity initiatives are all becoming increasingly important to employers. Additionally, opportunities in the gig economy are expanding, providing more benefits for those looking for greater flexibility. In a job market that is continually evolving, the ability to adapt to these trends and showcase these skills can help job seekers succeed in the long termof remote work, such as cost savings, increased

Here are a few lessons I have learned through this journey with SOCIAL MEDIA being at the forefront of it all.

• Social media can change your life! Stop playing with your online presence.

• Commit yourself to constant learning, accept that you know nothing and constantly seek to know more.

• It is okay to have a different perspective on general issues, don't try to just form an opinion on things based on your environment, and don't agree with an opinion just so you can look cool.

• Know when to leave, place, relationship, friendship, discern and know when your time there has expired.

• Beware of people who are superior but are out to use you, milk you dry all in the name of "Mentor"

• Your environment plays a huge role in your OUTPUT, you can't give what you don't have. Be around people who want you to be better.

• Be kind to yourself, you owe it to yourself. Even on days when you make mistakes, treat yourself kindly, and say kind words to yourself.

• You need people who can always have your back when the chips are down, If you have them already good for you and if you don't I hope you find them soon.

I'm rooting for you 🥂

THE PROS AND CONS OF PETROLEUM SUBSIDY REMOVAL

The Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), signed into law in 2021, provides for total deregulation of the Nigerian downstream oil and gas sector under Section 205, which implies the removal of subsidy to create a level-playing ground for the sector.

This means that petrol will be obtainable in Nigeria at the same value as the international oil price. In other words, the government will cease to pay subsidy, which has been the difference between international oil price and existing pump price, and local consumers may have to purchase petrol at around N750/N800 per liter.

Pros:
The notable advantage of subsidy removal is that it will enhance proficiency and uninterrupted product supply in the sector due to the government restricted activities, create a level-playing ground for marketers and promote massive investment in the downstream oil and gas value chain. The policy is also expected to curb the fiscal deficit that stems from subsidy payments.

Cons:
The obvious disadvantage of subsidy removal is the negative effect it is expected to have on consumers. Considering the weak power of Naira to Dollar and the income level of major households, it is unlikely for an average consumer to afford petrol at the projected rate. If all variables are not properly managed, removing subsidy would have contagious effects on other sectors as an inflated petrol price will trigger inflation on other commodities and services. Nigeria is a fuel-dependent economy, and many industries depend on its consumption to operate.

As it stands:
This is the second week of April, and we have less than three (3) months to the June 2023 deadline for subsidy removal. A plan that may meet resistance from both labor unions and the public over lack of clarity regarding the availability of social investment programmes and other measures to cushion the effects of the policy on the citizenry.

What a dilemma..
