Nigerian music sensation Davido has opened up about his struggles with fans accepting his albums. Speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast, Davido expressed his joy over the positive reception of his latest album, Timeless. The album, which was released 12 years after he started his career, has been breaking streaming records since its debut.

It became the first African album to reach the top of the US iTunes chart, the highest charting album by an African artist on US Apple Music, and had the biggest album first-day stream in Audiomack's history.

Davido's earlier works, including his 2012 debut album Omo Baba Olowo, his 2019 album A Good Time, and his 2020 album A Better Time, were criticized by some as "flops." However, the recent success of Timeless has been a fresh feeling for the DMW boss who has never before experienced so much love and acceptance for an album. He hopes that this album will break records.
