A tragic incident has shaken the community of Chhattisgarh's Kabirdham district in India as a 25-year-old groom, Hemendra Merawi, died in an explosion caused by a music system gifted to him and his bride by the bride's ex-boyfriend. The couple had tied the knot on April 1 and were at home with family when the incident occurred.

Hemendra and his brother, Rajkumar, were setting up the music system when it suddenly exploded, killing them both. The explosion was so violent that it blew off the roof of the house and damaged three walls, according to police.

The music system was allegedly gifted by the bride's ex-boyfriend, who had rigged it with explosives, police told The Express. The incident has left the community in shock, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter. The bride's ex-boyfriend has been identified as a suspect and is currently on the run.

Five other family members, including an 18-month-old child, were injured in the explosion.

Hemendra’s new bride, only identified as a 29-year-old woman, was at her parents’ home at the time of the incident.
After questioning Hemendra’s wife and other family members, police narrowed in on an ex-lover of the bride as the prime suspect.
