BACKGROUND
Organizational background
PMC is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in South Burlington, Vermont, USA that
specializes in developing behavior change communications programs around the world. Our dramas and
shows have produced behavior change on a wide range of issues, such as family planning, environmental
conservation, girl child education, violence against women, child trafficking, female genital
mutilation/cutting, and HIV avoidance.
PMC’s mission is to use entertainment-education and mass media to promote social and cultural change
by addressing the interconnected issues of the full rights of women and girls, population, and the
environment. Applying our unique drama design strategy, and with supporting monitoring, evaluation and
learning across all project components, PMC dramas have proven uniquely optimal for addressing these
priority themes at scale.
PLANE Window 3 (Brief Overview of Programme)
PMC will be working with Save the Children and other consortium partners (DRAC, GIOPINI, KSCF,
POTHE, WWDRF) to design and implement The Partnership for Learning for All (PLANE) Window 3
activities. PLANE Window 3 is a 4-year project which focuses on community support to learning and is
implemented by Save the Children International (SCI) and its partners. It is expected that at impact level,
PLANE will contribute to ‘More children and young people acquire basic skills and transition to more
productive life opportunities.” The project will work with existing community structures such as the School
Based Management Committees (SBMCs), Ward Development Committees (WDCs), women and men's groups,
disabilities groups, child protection committees, children, etc to engage local communities using SC's flagship
Community Action Cycle (CAC) approach. PLANE Window 3 aims to deliver an integrated programme aimed
at mobilizing communities to support children to access education and derive the maximum benefit from the
educational opportunities available to them.
