Most Nigerians have an unreasonable obsession with vehicle fuel consumption at the expense of everything else, and a corresponding hate for anything v6, because they think a v6 engine will consume more of their precious fuel..

That Generation's Accord v6 engine is quieter, smoother, faster, more powerful, far stronger than the 4 cylinder engine, and its fuel consumption is on par with the 4 cylinder, give or take a mile or two... This is assuming the v6 engine and other mechanical/electrical parts of the vehicle is in perfect condition.

Its Achilles heel is the gearbox, which is allegedly quite fragile compared to the 4 cylinder.. But I am yet to experience any of such "fragility* in the 2001, 2003, and 2010 Accord v6s that I have driven for a a while.. If you get a perfectly working specimen of these vehicles, you shouldn't have any problems as long as you keep up with routine maintenance, and more particularly don't go messing around with substandard gear oils..

Sir, I prefer a v6 engine because it is quieter and vibration-free compared to a 4 cylinder.. It also has better acceleration and lower engine noise at high speeds... Ceteris Paribus of course.
