NNEWI CONCERNED CITIZENS HOLD A SPECIAL EDITION OF EASTER SUMMIT.

...as Sen Ifeanyi Ubah reaffirms will to provide adequate support to security outfits in Nnewi.

Highlights of the event include display of the functionality of the CCTV installed in parts of Nnewi and walkie-talkie gadgets procured by the Senator for security outfits as well as presentation of Twelve Sienna Vehicles and twenty motorcycles to Nnewi Vigilante by Senator Ubah.

The re-elected Senator of Anambra South Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Tuesday, reassured the people of Nnewi and Anambra South residents that he will not relent in providing adequate support to various security outfits. Senator Ubah made the remarks during a special edition of Easter Summit organized by the Nnewi Concerned Citizens (NCC). Speaking at the event which took place at Anaedo Hall Nnewi, Senator Ubah reiterated that no meaningful development can be achieved in an environment that lacks proper security and reaffirmed that he will continue to give both legislative and personal supports to security agencies to boost security of lives and properties in Nnewi and Anambra South in general. The Anambra South Senator also appreciated the NCC especially the conveners of the special edition for organizing the event with the theme “Nnewi, Towards a New Direction” and reassured them that he will always provide every needed support for the sustenance of the event in the future.

Speaking further on his efforts to foster security of lives and properties in Nnewi, the Senator maintained that through legitimate partnerships initiated by him, parts of the community are now equipped with solar powered facilities that are aimed at supporting security agencies in surveillance and security analysis. He also appreciated the Anambra State Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo for identifying with the “Light up and secure Anambra South” Project and reassured his constituents that he will leave no stone unturned in putting in necessary measures to foster security and community development in all parts of the Senatorial District. The Senator further disclosed that plans are on top gear to train two hundred youths who will be made up of fifty youths from each of Nnewi four villages on security surveillance and analyses with the aid of powerful gadgets including walkie-talkies. He also announced that he has donated twelve Sienna Vehicles and twenty motorcycles to Nnewi Vigilante and reassured the people that he is always ready to give necessary support to secure their lives and properties.

The Anambra South Senator also disclosed that through his efforts, various parts of Nnewi are now not only networked but are also under the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) coverage and reassured the people of the community that implementation of more projects that will boost security in the town is in the pipeline.

Commenting on his empowerment programmes for the community, Senator Ubah said that a skill acquisition center will soon be built in Nnewi. He also said that building of Nnewi Houses in Abuja, Lagos and Awka which are facilitated by his office will soon commence and that proceeds from the projects will be used to empower Nnewi youths. He also announced that interactive sessions will regularly be organized by his office to deliberate on further ways of empowering the youths.

The Anambra South Senator also called for proper delineation of the Nnewi Constituency as that will provide a level playing ground for all political actors, deepen the democratic process and foster economic development in the Constituency.

Also speaking, Prince Onwa Nwafor-Orizu said that the summit was organized to enable ndị Nnewi deliberate on issues that will promote the wellbeing of the community residents. Prince Orizu who was also one of the event conveners further appreciated Senator Ubah for his giant efforts towards discovering, empowering and developing young talents and reassured him and the people of Nnewi that the concerned citizens will always put in measures to promote their wellbeing.

In his speech, Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu (JP) appreciated the event conveners for organizing such useful programme in Nnewi community, Ogbuefi Onyejepu who was the Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning to the administration of former Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano also described Nnewi as a land full of potentials and appreciated Senator Ubah for his uncommon efforts to develop the youths of the community. He also called on other prominent sons and daughters of the town to join hands with Senator Ubah and other stakeholders to move the community forward.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the Chairman of the occasion Chief Ben Okoye (Onwadiebube Nnewi) appreciated the Nnewi Concerned Citizens and the conveners of the special edition of the Easter Summit for investing towards the economic development of the noble town. Chief Okoye also appreciated Senator Ubah for making the protection and promotion of the interests of his constituents a priority and urged other prominent citizens of Anambra South Senatorial District to join hands with relevant authorities to foster the economic development of the District.

Emeka Nzewi (Eziokwubundu Nnewi), Chief Dan Edokwe, Chief Charles Obi, Ogbuefi Bernard Okeke, Chief Ogbuefi Eziokwubundu (Eze Ọdịnala), Hon Azuka Emechebe (Azukaego Nnewi), Chief Austin Emmanuel (Nkeonyeburueziokwu), Member-Elect of Nnewi North State Constituency Sir Augustine Ikedoji, Chief Igweamaka Olajuba (Obejiri Nasaa), Chief Okechukwu Orizu (Obi Umumejiaku), Chief Emmanuel Uba (Odinakachukwu), Mr Chigozie Emecheta (Nwagboluogu), Chief Chukwudi Nwosu (Isi na-amị ego Nnewi), Nze EIP Okanume (Ogbuebunu Eze Chinaemelu Nnewi), Chief Chukwudi Mbonu (Chukwukadibia), Chief Sir Enuma (ENUTRACO), Dr Edwin Chukwuma, Chief Bobby Okwuosa and Chief Ajaene Francis.
