PRESS RELEASE

DSS INVESTIGATES ATTACK ON ITS STAFF IN ADAMAWA STATE

The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to a trending video on the social media in which someone suspected to be its staff was allegedly manhandled by some political miscreants in Adamawa State.

This followed developments arising from the supplementary governorship election in the State.

The Service wishes to inform the public that it has commenced a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the incident.

While calling for calm, the Service also implores concerned parties in Adamawa State to remain peace loving and shun violence.

Attack on DSS official is callous, dastardly and counterproductive during supplementary polls in Adamawa state.
Perpetrators should not go unpunished.

It still baffles me that Binani a serving senator went on live television to make an acceptance speech. Someone who ought to know the electoral act and who is empowered by law to declare a gubernatorial elections. APC, INEC and security agencies are culpable in the illegality that took place today in Adamawa.

It unfortunate the attack on the alleged DSS officer. Are you also aware that DSS, Police and Civil defense officials accompanied the REC to carry out that illegal act.

This man was mistaken for the REC and beaten because they look alike.

The actual REC had earlier declared Binani winner without any result sheets and with collation still ongoing.

INEC had since declared the REC's declaration null and void.

Binani had earlier been seen on NTA and other media giving an "Acceptance speech" meanwhile.

OVER 10 PERSONS WERE KILLED IN SOUTHERN KADUNA YESTERDAY..

DSS SHOULD WORRY MORE ABOUT THIS ISSUE THAN ONE OF ITS PERSONNEL THAT WAS MANHANDLED DURING ELECTION.
