NTA is a poor state-run propaganda TV station.

Among the paywalled TV stations in the country, their picture quality remains one of the worst, after Lai Mohammed has used the station to embezzle $500 million. It makes you wonder if those guys ever watch CNN.

So, if NBC fines them, who will pay the money?

That network is reflection of everything wrong with Nigeria.

Lastly, when you consider the quality of journalists NTA attracts, you understand why fining them is a complete waste of time.
Including you running their mouth, as if they know anything?

With all due respect to you and your profession, NTA did no wrong sir. NTA are actually not bestowed with the authority to decide the outcome of any election in Nigeria, INEC was constitutionally. NTA just air the decision of the electoral body, or was the REC that declared her winner not with the electoral body?
Mind you the air acceptance speech was before INEC headquarters announced the declared winner null and void. You would have been right if NTA keep airing or air the acceptance speech after INEC headquarters declared it null and void.

NTA showed Binani acceptance speech which is treasonable.

Rubbish

You guys behave like Nazis sometimes with your one way thinking

The Channel only reported the News as it happened

It didn’t host anyone inciting the overthrow of the government like Datti did on Arise TV

Even UK Govt wouldn’t allow such a thing

Did she give an acceptance speech after INEC annulled the declaration of her win?

Was her declaration not a news event?
Was her acceptance speech not a news event?
Was the annulment not a news event?

So what is wrong if any news agency broadcasted each of the events in the sequence by which it occurred?

You just like to condemn without reasoning?

Oseni take his partisanship to a new low.

Did the acceptance speech come out of thin air?

Was it not premised on the declaration that she won, for which INEC later cancelled?

Or was the acceptance speech after the annulment of the declaration?

Oseni is obviously a dull one who only found a job as journalist without training?

I swear that Oseni just amplified his dull reasoning and his partisanship.
Make you know allow me throw you digital blow from here. Is NTA not supposed to be abreast with the way elections are conducted and announced legally? If her announcement was done legally why give her a platform to do an illegal acceptance?
Na you your partisanship done kuku blind your eyes.

This Oseni is a compound fool , he just talk to be noticed when someone was declared by Inec and she hold a conference to give her acceptance speech how is that a problem .You want to justify ilegalities that was done by Datti Ahmed on CHANNELS TV with this one. A press conference is different from an organized interview.
Furthermore , Datti Ahmed has no right to tell the judiciary not to swear in a president elect of a country, and further saying if they try to swear him in that is the end of democracy in Nigeria. That is teasonable. Our constitution states that a president elect must be sworn in 29th may the handover date. It is in the constitution.
The constitution also stated that whoever that is aggrieved can seek redress in the courts of law.
Now look at this scenario , a vice president elect Shettima now come on national television to say the court should not sit on any presidential election matter, that the opposition should not be listened to by the judges because they want to steal their mandate too, and any attempt to listen to them , democracy will come to an end..
If something like that happened too what will the supporters of Datti Amhed will say .
It's in Nigeria constitution, you cant stop inauguration and you cant stop people from going to court to challenge what they believe is wrong.
The word DEMOCRACY WILL END IN NIGERIA if the country performs its constitutional rights is a no no .

When Mahmood yakubu had all the time in the world to review errors detected why was he so quick to announce the result when people were sleeping. Its now you have the audacity to talk about who to fine and who not to.

This whole saga would have been avoided if yakubu stopped to review the results. Had it been all political parties including nigerians came out to protest what would you have said?

This guy is becoming more foolish than ever, if inec had not annulled the said elections moments later because of its illegality, how was it wrong for them to have granted her an interview when duly returned by the resident electoral commissioner?

Declaration by who?
So NTA is not knowledgeable enough to know REC has no power to declare winner?

Did NTA show results of all local government before the declaration by REC?

Una hypocrisy is raised to power 2 trillion.

You are the hypocrite here?

NTA is not INEC or Supreme court to decide which electoral matter is legitimate or not legitimate.

That is for the court or INEC to decide, which they did.

It is the job of the news agency to bring you the news - all the news, which they did, including the eventual INEC annulment.

Is there a blanket ban on broadcasting anything illegal. I assume the answer is no. Example - footage of ongoing armed robbery and other illegalities have been broadcast over the years. The question is whether it is in the public interest for such material to be broadcast.

Each case will have to be treated on its own merit. It is up to the NBC to decide whether there has been a breach by NTA.

Also, this issue has only occurred in the past couple of days. NBC may well be considering the matter already.

Mr Oseni's rush to draw what seems like a false equivalence with Channel's infraction is another laughable attempt at cheap publicity.

Irrespective of your long epistle, if had been AriseTV or Channels, they would have been fined and seriously reprimanded.

So because INEC is constitutionally empowered to declare winners of elections in nigeria, it means an INEC driver or adhoc staff can wake up one morning, gather army, police and Civil defense to protect him, and announce any candidate the winner of an election? The REC did not even bother to call out the figures, he just said Binani is hereby returned elected.

I don't quarrel with NTA carrying the acceptance speech, where NTA errered was not carrying the other side of the story by informing its viewers that the acceptance speech is based on a fraud because the REC was not empowered to declare the results and winner and that the INEC headquarters had suspended the collation of the results.

So what happened if a president is not sworn in on the 29th? Do Buhari and the national assembly continue beyond their term? Do we install an interim government, which does not have any legal backing or do we have a military coup?

When will you folks come to accept that the NTA is the media arm of government. They are set up by government, funded by government, controlled by government

They have told you so for fifty years yet you constantly expect something else. We just love to waste our time in this country. How can govrnment fine or reprimand government.

If God forbid there is a coup tomorrow the same NTA will play martial music and tell us how khaki rule is the best thing since cassava was turned into garri.
