I am just disappointed at Obi and Atiku, a former Governor and Vice-President of Nigeria cannot ensure that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal is broadcasted live for all Nigerians to watch and follow up on?
Assuming roles where reversed and it was Atiku, Obi that had all the massive scandals and abnormalities that Tinubu currently has, the whole thing will be broadcasted live on Tvc and NTA, it was Tinubu and co that ensured that Abacha' name was dragged on Oputa panel. The only reason i can think of for them to pushing to make the broadcast live is to avoid international disgrace.

Section 36 (1) and (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides that judicial proceedings should be conducted in public.

Providing public access to the proceedings would meet the aspirations of the public to participate in the process.

I was very very young when oputa was aired, literacy level is higher in 2023 now than it was in 99/2000.

Oputa panel is nothing to be compared to a presidential election petition hearing, it takes a fucking time and the TV stations might air it live once in a while not everyday

Besides the Appeal court President might decline Media coverage to avoid unnecessary tension and for the safety of the witnesses too

This is not the first neither will it be the last election petition. Since democracy the only person that has accepted defeat and didn't go to court is Jonathan in 2015. Every other election year tribunal cases dey dey.
