HIGHLIGHTS OF SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH'S CONSTITUENCY BRIEFING ON AUTHORITY 91.9 FM.

~ The drive towards an Anambra South Senatorial District where incidents of kidnappings, killings, and other criminalities will become a thing of the past has commenced in earnest.

~ Nnewi (as a result of its strategic importance as a major business hub and commercial town) hosts the pilot scheme of the security architecture currently being deployed to rid the zone of insecurity.

~ Over 500 walkie-talkies successfully deployed across the entire Nnewi North Local Government Area.

~ CCTV cameras are springing up in various strategic locations in the town alongside cloud-based security camera systems with secured reception centres already in place and functioning.

~ Deployment of painted wooden barricades for use in securing the Streets/Exit points (once an attempt at criminality alarm goes off) to commence today.

~ Insurance policy for the vigilante operatives in progress.

~ Several youth vigilante volunteers commence training on information gathering, intelligence, and security networking.

~ Senator Ubah calls on residents to imbibe the spirit of "SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING" in reporting criminal activities/elements in the town with the full assurance that all reports collated will be diligently looked into, investigated and dealt with.

~ The ongoing security architecture once fully operational in Nnewi will serve as a model for deployment to the other local government areas that comprise the Anambra South Senatorial District.

~ Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah also brought his constituents up to speed on the status of his various ongoing projects across the 7 local government areas and reaffirmed his total commitment towards the continuous delivery of dividends of democracy to the Senatorial district.

~ Senator Ubah also addressed a caller's concern about the possible distractions emanating from the ongoing election tribunal cases instituted against him by the defeated candidates of APGA, Labour, and PDP, he assured his constituents that he remains focused with eyes on the ball.
He recounted how the candidate of APGA, Hon. Azubogu called him to congratulate him, only to institute court action against him.

In his words, "If the quest for contesting election is truly about the people, then the majority should be allowed to have their choice especially where the choice was made in such a resounding manner where the winner emerged in a landslide."

~ Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah assured his constituents that he will do everything within his power to ensure that their mandate freely given to him in a landslide victory is secured in court.

~ Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah expressed satisfaction with the rate of success already being recorded with the Operation Light-Up, Secure and Empower Anambra South Senatorial District launched in December and reiterated his resolve not to relent until maximum success is achieved.

~ Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah concluded the radio chat by calling on the persons making Anambra South Senatorial District the centre of crime and criminality to have to rethink or have themselves to blame.

~ Several callers into the program expressed their appreciation and prayed for God's continued guidance upon Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.

Recall that on Saturday 22-04-23 by 11.23 pm.

A distress call came in that a core engineering staff of NAUTH Hospital Nnewi that just left the hospital after a hard day's work has just been double-crossed and kidnapped by gunmen in a Lexus Jeep and whisked away with one of the kidnappers also taking over his vehicle.

While being taken round Nnewi by the kidnappers, he was made to transfer the monies in his account through mobile banking to an Opay account.

They didn't stop there, a call was also put through to his wife and a doctor colleague of his to quickly transfer available sums too or he dies.

While the wife quickly transferred her widow's mite while begging the kidnapper to release her husband unhurt, the doctor's colleague of his couldn't do an online transfer of the 500k demanded from him and quickly embarked on a night hunt (compound search) for POS operators.

This was the situation as the security network in the ancient commercial town swung into action and reports on sightings of the vehicles trying to exit the town kept coming in via radio communications.

It was a great opportunity that came calling at the right time to test the efficacy of the ongoing security model/apparatus being developed in the commercial town as a pilot scheme before deployment of same strategy to the other Local Government Areas that make up Anambra South Senatorial District.

The Senator representing Anambra South, Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, on receiving the news of the kidnap via the ongoing radio communications amongst the vigilante operatives quickly ran upstairs and appeared a few minutes later dressed in camouflage and the hunt for the kidnappers commenced in earnest.

Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah personally led the operation which lasted from a few minutes to 12 midnight till 2 am in the early hours of Sunday morning.

I will spare you the lurid details for security reasons, but the good news was that Engineer Okafor was rescued unhurt, and his vehicle recovered.

With the deployment of over 200 walkie-talkies into the streets of Nnewi with an additional 300 soon to follow, the CCTV cameras (both stationed and mobile ones) and the purchased security hardware soon to arrive, it is becoming clearer by the day that the total eradication of insecurity in the ancient commercial town will soon be achieved.

You may recall that the move towards a safe and secured Anambra South commenced in December when the Senator representing the zone declared Operation Light-Up and Secure Anambra South senatorial district closely followed by the donation of over 500 Million Naira worth of security gadgets to the state government.

The journey towards the recovery of the Anambra South economy has begun in earnest.

In Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, we are lucky to be blessed with an idea bearer that leads from the front.

Imagine for a second what could have happened when the oxygen used in the hospital by patients in critical conditions including babies in incubator go off because the man responsible for it is languishing in the hands of kidnappers.

While sitting at home today, do make out time to mull through the fact that our senatorial district currently loses an estimated 150 million Naira every Monday when we close our businesses to chill at home and eat ofe nsala.

May God continue to raise for us, sacrificial leaders that refuse to play the ostrich while the people suffer from insecurity-induced hunger and fear of the unknown.

We are enjoying relative peace in Anambra now. It goes to show that all those unknown gunmen brouhahas were politically motivated just to put fear in the minds of voters.
