This will help boost local production. In China, importing finished products attracts more than 50% tax.

When so many useless countries were calling others to boycott Euro and USD, I just smiled at their uninformed citizens shouting and supporting it. Only Europe and US gives fair tax for imported finished goods into their countries. Infact they only like finished standardized goods thereby helping exporting countries to develop.

The uncivilized China pushing their Yaun down the throats of this developing countries don't accept finished into their countries. The give little to zero tax on imported raw materials and tax heavily on finished products. This helps them to keep developing their economy while pushing the exporting countries to deeper recession.

Nigeria is still very fair enough. Good one there
Boost which local production? If you want to boost your production kindly ask government to empower those into such business here, there’s no way tax can boost production it only creates more expenses for the consumers n it can also lead to people boycotting such products, It’s only in Nigeria we celebrate draconian laws, tried that abroad they will boycott your products and go for other ones there are varieties

Try to always ask questions where you are extremely lacking. Acting smart in an issue well above you, will only make you look and sound stup*d.

You said no tax (import tax) can boost local production? I don't know how to start with you. Go seek knowledge and then come back.

What really are you smoking? In China they charge 50% tax forgetting that in the same China their ease of doing business is far better than ours. There is incentives for local production and there is a high purchasing power in the local population. You people should keep living in deceit.

It is well understandable that Buhari method of taxation is like a pain to the masses ass.

We thought the president should be more concerned in saving the masses.
what buhari policies has been doing so far is to make the rich richer at the expense of the poor masses.

The big problem is that it will also affect the price of bottled water in the street.

So because you don't smoke or drink the people who does deserves the price hikes? Your life must be so boring if you don't drink or smoke, what then do you like doing? Gambling? undecided or maybe you just cannot afford to smoke or drink.

After hiking the prices of what you don't like (as it would not affect you) what do you think would be next?

QuotaSystem:
The key word here is imported.

We should have no business wasting scarce Forex importing beverages and other consumables that can be produced here and even exported to earn Forex. More importantly, government should be accountable for the revenue generated from these levies.

Now watch the same people that were trumpeting “from consumption to production” attack this measure to discourage indiscriminate importation that weakens the Naira and stifles local manufacturers.

Sometimes it is good to think before you talk. What is the ease of doing business in Nigeria like at the moment? Zero, are there any incentives to boost factors of production like power and good roads and security? Zero, is the purchasing power of Nigerians strong enough to make typical factory breakeven in a short payback period? You guys lack sincerity and conscience. The thing is this you don't go guns blazing to encourage local production there has to be a plan and a process to switch to production. China didn't do it immediately, it was done in several years.

Are you daft? Over 50% tax is being charged on imported *finished* goods in China. Do you know what finished goods means?
Did you even read my write up? Why is China giving incentive for local production? Did you read what I wrote? What a pathetic kid and people like you will be calling themselves the future? What a shame

Lol, that's the beginning of the end for a dying country. They will charge 75 naira per liter of beer. So, the beer will now become how much after production and marketing cost is removed?

They're increasing taxes on people that barely surviving and can't even afford most basic needs?

Even the mother of all which is petroleum subsidy they're saying will soon be removed.

I laugh again, let me see how a drug baron and his rogues can manage such dying country without it collapsing on everyone.
