A notorious ritualist syndicate, Ifasoji Ayangbesan has been arrested by the Ogun state police command in connection with the killing and dismembering of one Oyindamola Adeyemi.

Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Sunday, said the 35 year old suspect was apprehended on April 28 at his hideout in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state following an intelligence-based investigation embarked upon by detectives from Obalende Divisional Police headquarters.

He attempted to bribe the police division with a whooping 1 million nair bribe offer to secure his release which was vehemently turned down.

The PPRO added that Ayangbesan was mentioned by arrested members of the syndicate earlier as the person who purchased the two legs of the deceased victim.

The Police spokesperson said he swinged into action immediately he heard that he had been mentioned by his accomplices as part of the syndicate.
