The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Nasarawa State Command, Comdt., Abbas Bappa Muhammed, msgt play host to the participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 16, 2023, from the National Institute for Security Studies, Abuja, with the theme: Globalization and Regional Economic Integration: Implications for Sustainable Development in Africa.

The leader of the delegation and Director Research, Estimate and Library Services Dr. A. A Karim fsi+, abreast the Commandant on the purpose of the visits. Others include; syndicate Supervisor Mr. Samuel Okpeleko, fsi, Directing staff Mr. A Adelakun, fsi, and Dr. F.C Opko, fsi, fspsp, Study Group Coordinator and Mr. V.G Joshua Research Fellow.

The State Commandant, Abbas Bappa Muhammed, msgt briefed the Participants on the general overview of the Security in Nasarawa State.
In his words “Nasarawa state can relatively be considered one of the most peaceful states in the federation, this is attributed to a combination of factors, but in no small measures, to the approach of the state government to security issues.”


The NSCDC boss states that, in order to support government’s effort to open up the state to the world, to attract investment, the NSCDC has been very active in, but not limited to the following areas of security management in the state.
Agriculture, Solid Minerals and most recently petroleum; the Agro Rangers are formed to take care of all disputes emanating from headers and farmers’ clash. To tackle the incessant case of kidnapping along Lafia-Akwanga-Keffi road, Pin-Down are located in some of the strategic areas along the major high ways.

The participants are drawn from thirty-five (35) Agencies in Nigeria as well as four (4) African countries, The Gambia, Niger, Chad and Rwanda.

The participants interacted with the resource person, where questions were asked and answers given appropriately.
