IGR: Abia moves from 15bn to 19.8bn since 2021, poised to end at 24bn in 2023.

In every establishment, engaging experts with requisite expertise, ensures its sustainable growth and acceleration.

Recall that Abia could only do between and 12.5b in 2016 and 15.9bn 2020. In fact it maintained 15bh for about 4 years.

But after the introduction of the new arrangement in 2020 where private was engaged at strategic and operational levels to work hand in glove with the core staff of the ABIRS, the figure jumped to a whopping 19.2bn in 2021 which climbed further to 19.8bn in 2022.. Credit to the private sector together with the BIR core personnel that created a winning formular, fast tracking introduction of new tools, methodologies, people motivation and result achievement.

The involved entities above, have been the driving forces of the state's IGR drastic growth.

With the speed at which the innovations instilled already are moving and yielding positive results just as the state has done more than 6billion naira already in the first quarter of 2023, it is obvious that before the end of the year, Abia should generate in the region of 24bn.

Let me say that i am not too impress with the performances of all the states in south east, there should be doing better than this. Anambra and Abia state should look inward on how to generate revenue for their state.
