Jagaban is a very fine man; a man of the people and the man that has the wisdom to reunite Nigerians and unlock prosperity in every way and at all levels in Nigeria. But I do not like his picks. The selection from the North west is perfect, but the pick from Abia state is ridiculous. The igbos deserve NOTHING; they should be treated exactly the way they treated Tinubu for the past 2yrs. They should let them continue to clean all the toilets in Aso Rock |

stevonics: Stop conning yourself. Some democracies are more advanced than others. This may lead folks like you to think Nigeria's democracy must resemble that of the UK or USA. Yet the reality is that democracies are about lobbying, in recognition of the state of affairs peculiar to that democracy, till a better democracy is in place. Go and study the history of the UK and USA to note how they got where they have today. Our reality is that we are a divided nation of over 400 ethnic groups where many are ready to be an impediment to others to protect their vested interest. It is very naive and self-destructive of you to not understand that a President who wishes to be successful and move Nigeria forward must lobby to gain the Senate President who can help him quickly pass pivotal and progressive bills into law. How is it sensible to follow your naive suggestion we should "practice global democracy " when the reality is that the democracies of the West are at least 100 years ahead of that of Nigeria? What you naively suggest, in bold above, will gain us a Senate President who is a poster child of business-as-usual vested interest that will ensure a President fails to change Nigeria to the glory of the common man. This happened right before our eyes with Saraki when the legislators , as you suggest, "elected their leader" to produce worthless 'Oloye' who wasted four years of Nigeria's time trying, on behalf of PDP, to frustrate everything Buhari planned even as we now know PMB himself is not sincere. Some of you, if even 0.5% of progressive goodness remains in your body, should start looking at our reality when you speak. Nigeria is not the UK, USA or Germany. Far from it. To get close to those nation then we must work as realists who accept how things really are in Nigeria and then prepared to work with that existential reality to drive the changes we wish to see. Only fools take flights of fantasy wanting the Nigerian democracy, overnight, to resemble that of the UK,USA, France, Germany etal. |

Islie: I'm one of those, so pleased with the arrangement or zoning if you like in APC, especially as it concerns the people of South East. It has clearly shown that in the last 8-12yrs, APC, is not a party with the interest of the IGBOS at heart. I'm so glad, Orji Uzor Kalu, has been shoved aside in the consideration of the Senate Presidency. Not only him, the likes of Umahi. It was Rochas Okorocha, that took the people of the South East, into the formation of APC, through APGA, He brought the likes of Ken Nnamani, today, in the organogram of APC, where is the place of the Igboman and Rochas Okorocha? In the first 4yrs of Buhari, the assumption was that there weren't enough of South East senators from Apc to warrant them having the Senate Presidency, today, APC, controls 2 states out of the 5 states in the region, with good number of senators and members of HoR. Yet, the region is been treated with leprous hands. Till Tinubu's presidency will be over, let no Igboman, think of any good thing from him and APC. It's a clear message. People of South East, look elsewhere for your survival politically. It's not in ApC. Rotimi Amaechi, threw all he has into the formation of APC, with the rebellious 5 agrieved governors of PDP, to form the NewPDP ( NPDP). After being a two term DG of Buhari's campaign organization, he has been thrown under the bus in the present APC. Wike watch your back. Yours will be the most disgraceful |

OneTemplate: When you are borrowing or coping a thing, you must learn to borrow or copy well. There shouldn't be anything like this is their style and this our own. British kind of democracy, have been for years, no one tries to copy anything else anywhere. If you are not ready for the true democracy in its truest sense, why copy or borrow it? If you are not ready to abide by the terms of the borrower, why go for his loan? 1 Like 1 Share |
