Wema Bank is committed to supporting the growth and development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. To this end, the bank has launched the Wema SME Business School, a flagship capacity-building programme designed to equip SME business owners and entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge needed to grow their businesses and succeed in today’s competitive business landscape.

The programme, which was launched in 2021, is held at least twice a year and has already seen four successful editions take place in different parts of the country, including Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. The programme consists of training and lectures on various aspects of business management and entrepreneurship, facilitated by subject matter experts and experienced entrepreneurs.

Each class typically consists of 120 – 150 SME business owners and entrepreneurs who are selected through a call for applications and direct nominations. The programme provides an excellent opportunity for participants to network and learn from other entrepreneurs, share experiences, and gain valuable insights into the Nigerian business landscape.

This year's edition of the Wema SME Business School will be held in Benin, Edo State.
