EFCC Arrests Sale Mamman, Ex-Power Minister, Over ‘₦‎22 Billion Fraud’ by Racoon(m): 8:15pm On May 10, 2023
Sale Mamman, former minister of power, has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with an alleged N22 billion fraud, TheCable understands.

Mamman, who was a minister under President Muhammadu Buhari from 2019 to 2021, was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday and is being detained at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja, sources in the know told TheCable.

The arrest is connected to investigations into alleged corruption in the execution of some power projects.
Mamman is accused of conspiring with staff of the ministry in charge of the accounts of the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects to divert N22 billion and share among themselves.

The investigations uncovered properties in Nigeria and overseas allegedly linked to the suspects, while millions of naira and dollars have reportedly been recovered.

President Muhammadu Buhari on September 1, 2021, sacked Mamman and Sabo Nanono, the minister of agriculture and rural development, in what was called a cabinet restructuring.

See the kind of heavy corruption going on in Buhari government

Buhari government may have embezzled more funds than Late General Abacha Government from the level of heavy corruption being reported on a daily .

Today, Buhari wants to borrow $800million in less than 19days to get the-hell-out of office. what a man!!!
Highly corrupt and incompetent

A very useless president, the worst Nigeria ever had .

Na God go punish this thieves destroying our beloved country

I tell you. Nobody should tell me that EFCC under Buhari’s government arrested or prosecuting him because Buhari said he appointed "saints" into his government.

Sarrki, Afamed, Seunmsg, and NgeneUkwenu should kindly come see the super looters Buhari appointed into office.

Same way Festus Keyamo recently acquired a property in the US while serving as a minister of the Federal Republic. Same way the former accountant general, that was simply given a plea bargain.

Very easy to blame, your citizens go and steal money, you will blame others for their corruption?

Yet a lot of you complaining, your parents work in the civil service, the same people responsible for public corruption.

This unconscionable looter needs to have all his asserts taken away and then imprisoned for the remainder of his time.

Mr Mamman served as the Minister of Power from August 2019 to September 2021, when he was unceremoniously removed from office by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Providing insights into the case against Mr Mamman, sources said he allegedly conspired with officials of the Ministry of Power during his stint as minister diverted N22 billion and shared it among themselves.

“From 2017 to date, the former Minister of Power conspired with other staff of the Ministry in charge of the accounts of the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power Project, diverted over N22 billion naira, and shared it amongst themselves,” a source said.
