It may sound like a fairy tale, but Netflix's hit series "Queen Charlotte" is based on a true life story. I'll separate fact from fantasy in the hit Bridgerton series "Queen Charlotte" and the true love story between the real-life Queen Charlotte and King George.

WHO WAS PRINCESS CHARLOTTE?
The Netflix series "Queen Charlotte" portrays the character as existing with no mention of her parents, aside from a brother played by Tunji Kasim, who arranges her marriage to a stranger.

However, in reality, Queen Charlotte's backstory was quite different. Born in 1744 to German nobles Princess Elizabeth Albertina and the Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Charlotte had a sheltered upbringing with limited exposure to court life. In contrast to the Netflix series, she was one of ten children.

At seventeen, her brother arranged her marriage to King George of Britain, who faced challenges in securing his inheritance after the deaths of his parents and uncle. The Seven Years' War further complicated his position as the Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
