Please don’t make it a competition” – Indian chef, Lata Tondon who held the Guinness record Hilda Baci broke, appeals to Nigerians


The Indian international chef, Lata Tondon who held the Guinness record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, which Hilda Baci is attempting to break has took on her social media handle to plead with Nigerians to take things easy as it’s no competition between her and Hilda.

This is reacting to series of harsh comments made by some Nigerians on her social media space, even after she has extended her support for Hilda.


She wrote, “A Humble Request to all my Sisters and Brothers in Nigeria & India to maintain peace and wait for Guinness to officially announce if the Current Record is broken or not. Please don’t make it a Competition it’s just a Record my friends I am a Peace loving Person and wish same for you”

Recall that Hilda surpassed the current world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

The 27-year-old started cooking on Thursday 11th May 2023 and surpassed India’s Lata Tondon who set the record with 87 hours 45mins in 2019, Hilda Baci set a new record by cooking for a 100hours.

Although the Guinness Book of record is yet to confirm Hilda Baci’s new record, following a statement released by it official handle stating that Hilda’s epic cooking marathon is under review.
