The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has said that police ransacked Seun Kuti’s house because of alleged discovery of suspicious things, IGBERETV reports.

Police officers on Tuesday, stormed the Akin Osiyemi residence of the musician, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, for a search and seized his wife's mobile phone in the process.

This happened a day after the Afrobeat musician was arrested for assaulting a policeman on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

Condemning the invasion, Seun Osewa wrote on Twitter;

"The harrassment of Seun Kuti's family by ransacking their home & seizing his wife's phone is wrong.

You're making people who were sympathetic to the police because Seun Kuti's behaviour was despicable to remember why they hated the police before.

This is bad PR for the police."

In reply, the PPRO wrote;

“In the course of our investigation, we stumbled on certain suspicious things that needed to be proven/disproved beyond reasonable doubt.

“We, therefore, applied for and duly got a search warrant from the court, which we have executed. Investigation continues.”

Ask my Fulani Herbsmen men killing our farmers don't get treatment like this. Seun didnt kill, Yakubu stole a whole country's destiny and still walking tall. Now every celebrity arrested must face the same process otherwise we no go gry. IGP when are you going to send police to Benue to fish out the Fulani that killed 100 people. You are quick to react to Seun's slap but forgot deliberately 100 people killed in Benue.
