Seems the Fed Govt is reluctant to put NTA on concession, allowing it to make money and run itself. I get the point...they don't want all media privately owned because it can be dangerous for democracy. On the other hand, they refuse to properly fund it because that would create avenues of corruption. I believe the Govt should privatize NTA, and have a right to pick HALF of its board members, so they can continue to have a hand in it, and still allow the TV Station to operate independently, charge appropriately, pay staff appropriately and upgrade their equipments. They have assets including journalists that can rival any and all TV stations in Nigeria. As a matter of fact, it is so hard to get a job in NTA than it is to get at AriseNews. If you follow the news, you will understand what I mean. They wont hire someone with Animal Husbandry to scream and shout every morning. You need to stand up to the tough veteran journalists that will not take shit.
