A human rights activist, Festus Ogun, has reacted to the Federal High Court ruling which nullified the candidature of the Abia State Governor-elect, Dr Alex Otti and all the candidates of the Labour Party in Abia and Kano states.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that the Federal High Court sitting in Kano, presided over by Justice M N Yunusa, had nullified the candidature of Otti and all the candidates of LP in Abia and Kano.

The court ruled that their emergence wasn’t in compliance with the provisions of the 2022 Electoral Act.

Reacting, Ogun, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, branded the court’s judgement as too late, adding that Otti and other LP candidates have been duly elected.

“Too late. They have been duly elected,” Ogun tweeted.

“This judgement cannot affect their emergence in any way and cannot be a ground to challenge their emergence at the Tribunal.”

Well, if it's too late, maybe there's no need for them to appeal.

Alex and every other persons concerned should not listen to any ill advice. They should have filed the appeal by now then.

Is it not labour party that want to rule this country. Walahi nothing can work in this country. Peter Obi is not yet the president, his party is already in disarray. Everything is just upside down. The people I pity are the obidients still thinking Peter Obi has mandate somewhere to claim.
Do u know the reason why the supreme court did not waste time on Osun election despite APC winning at the centre. They know such nullification cannot hold cos PDP swept every available post in osun with one mind. They have no reasons to give governorship to APC.
The same scenario is playing out in Labour party. No court of law will give positive judgement or mandate to divided house even if they truly win. It's what we called common sense.

Good day to everyone on nairaland. Pls i want to use this medium to appeal to all nairalanders to help my uncle out. He has stroke for over 3 years now. He is currently recieving treatment and therapy at General Hospital, Kubwa, ABUJA.

The sickness has really drained his finances over these years. Currently he has been asked to purchase some drugs which cost 95,000 naira.

Pls we will be so grateful if anyone can assit us in whatever way they can. No amount is to small as it will go a long way in helping us purchase the drugs as we dont have money and cant bear the cost of the drugs alone. God bless you all as you assist us.

Pls i am more than willing to provide any information as evidence to prove that this is not a false claim

The Judge who even presided over the nullification needs to be banned or suspended or warned about such error!
The window of opportunity to contest an election is 14 days after the primaries which is now a year old!
What sort of schoolboy error is this?
The one that is even making me laugh is the agbadorians that were celebrating the sham!
Indeed, you cannot be an APC supporter and still have any sense!

Too late, miscarriage of justice, the judge was bribed, the case was preelection matter and all the other stories coming up...wetin these ones go do to the judgement

Una better rush to Court of Appeal, and not only appeal the judgement, but pray the court to swear-in Alex Otti on May 29th....if not, whoever comes second in Abia election can approach the court and ask that INEC should be compelled to issue him certificate of return and also direct Abia Chief judge to swear him in on May 29th based on the FHC Kano judgement

Emergence of Alex Otti even followed due process than the one that produced Mr Bitter Obi (the manhood finder) who left PDP at 12:15pm and declared LP flag bearer at 2:05pm thesame day after distributions of ghana-must- go bags.

Otti is a good man, far more better than the kerosine man and I pray he remains the governor of the state come May 29th.

One of the Alkali Court Judges in the uniform of Nigeria's Court judges nullified the election in Abia state in Kano.

What level do the Arewa want us to take their unitary government system to?

A Court in Texas nullifying the election of a New York state governor. Sounds stupeed.
