Four great Nigerian universities made it to 2000 top world university in the recent global ranking of universities. They are University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, UNN and ABU Zaria, all federal universities.

Unibadan was ranked first in Nigeria and 1,163th position in the global 2,000.

UNN was ranked second in Nigeria and 1,784th position in the global list.

UNILAG was ranked third in Nigeria and 1,875th globally.

ABU was ranked fourth nationally and was placed on number 1,881 on the global list.

The top 5 universities that lead the ranking are Harvard University coming 1st, Massachusetts Institute of Technology 2nd, Standford University 3rd, University of Cambridge 4th and University of Oxford taking the 5th place.
