Nairalanders is it true that one can track his or her vehicle using a blackberry smartphone? My friend told me someone does it and the person even locked his car when he saw that his friend took away his car without his consent

TRUE, it can work.
U can use any phone to lock down and deactiate ur car.
And u can use any GPRS enabled phone to get location and see where your car is
BUT, u have to install a GPS car tracker in that car.
