Worries As Oshoala Picks Injury Ahead Of UCL Final by Maffyjay: 6:34am On May 22, 2023
With only 12 days until the UEFA Women’s Champions League final, Barcelona supporters are worried as star striker Asisat Oshoala picks up injury during Barcelona’s 2-1 Spanish Liga F loss to CFF Madrid on Sunday.

The Women’s Champions League final between the Spanish champions and Wolfsburg is scheduled for June 3 at the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

After battling an ankle ailment that prevented her from playing in the final two league games of the season, the 28-year-old was a late addition to the Barcelona team that thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in the competition’s final last year.

On Sunday, in the last league game of this season, the five-time African Women’s Player of The Year was subbed off in the 21st minute for Alexia Putellas, who scored the Blaugrana’s only goal, as the champions suffered their first defeat in the league in two years, which ended their 64-match unbeaten run.

The Spanish club has not yet provided any update on the condition of their leading goal scorer, but a Spanish tabloid, Mundodeportivo, said that the Super Falcons star had sustained a hamstring injury.
