Obi isn't the only dignitary present when Dangote was making his speech. Saraki, Obaseki and many others where there and they weren't mentioned as well. This is simply because they didn't fall within the context of his gratitude. That doesn't in any way mean they were ignored or their presence was not appreciated.

Those he mentioned were the ones who directly contributed in one way or the other, to the success of the refinery.

Why over rating obi who has no any stake in national development ? Dangote recognised only those that contributed positively to the success of his company not politics. Who is Obi where they don't even recognized Obasanjo him mentor??

Peter Obi Ignored as Aliko Dangote Thanks Tinubu, Buhari, Fashola, and Sanwo-Olu for the Success of the Refinery

May 22, 2023

Lagos, Nigeria - In a surprising turn of events, Peter Obi, the former Vice Presidential candidate of the opposition party, was seemingly ignored by Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, as he expressed gratitude to key political figures for the success of his refinery project.

During the grand opening ceremony of the Dangote Refinery, which took place today in Lagos, Aliko Dangote took the stage to acknowledge the individuals who played a significant role in the realization of this monumental project. However, to the surprise of many, Peter Obi, a prominent political figure in Nigeria, was noticeably absent from the list of acknowledgments.

Dangote, in his speech, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He commended their unwavering support, which he claimed played a vital role in the success of the refinery.

The Dangote Refinery, one of the largest and most advanced oil refineries in the world, has been hailed as a game-changer for Nigeria's economy. The multi-billion-dollar project aims to reduce the country's dependence on imported refined petroleum products and create job opportunities for thousands of Nigerians.

While Dangote's recognition of prominent politicians is not entirely unexpected, the omission of Peter Obi from his list raised eyebrows among political observers. Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and a respected voice in Nigeria's political landscape, has been a vocal critic of the current administration's policies and has championed alternative approaches to economic development.

Some political analysts believe that the exclusion of Peter Obi from Dangote's acknowledgments could be attributed to their differing political ideologies and the ongoing political rivalry between the ruling party and the opposition. However, others argue that it may simply be an oversight or an unintentional omission on Dangote's part.

Peter Obi's camp has yet to issue an official statement regarding his exclusion from the list. However, it is expected that the matter will fuel further debate and speculation in the Nigerian political sphere.

As the Dangote Refinery begins its operations, all eyes are on the impact it will have on Nigeria's economy. The project has the potential to transform the country's oil sector and attract foreign investments. Nevertheless, the incident at the opening ceremony serves as a reminder of the complex web of politics and alliances that influence Nigeria's development landscape.

He acknowledged those who have direct impact in the success story of the refinery, BAT and Fashola are ex governors of Lagos state, Sanwolu is the current governor of Lagos, Buhari is the current president of the country, they all played one role or the other in making it possible the refinery to kick off so he must acknowledge them, Obi is from Anambra state, he has never been a national officer so might not have played any role in the success story of the refinery. Did Dangote not recognize his presence?

It looks as if some always intend to package controversial reportage for a Nigerian audience they view as simpletons and r.etards.

Otherwise, what on Earth would Dangote mention Obi for? What part, however miniscule, did Obi play to birth this 'game changer' for the Nigerian economy and a solution to the perennial problem of Nigeria refining her own crude optimally to satisfy domestic consumption of PMS,diesel, Kerosene etal?

What warrants any mention of the attention-seeking Obi who should not even be there ywr went to do ka ri mi i.e notice me ?

While at it, the dumb reportage should demand Dangote thank Kwanwaso, Jandor and GRV also because everyone that contests an election in Nigeria now deserves insincere VIP mention over what they had zilch to do with.
